    So which is it? Can they capture conversations or not?

    They also don't seem entirely sure if their facts are facts:

    Not as far as the mass is concerned. From its POV it doesn't "feel" anything - at least not until a few moments later when the Earth suddenly slams into it.

    Its based entirely on made up BS with no actual science behind it.

    No actual science? How did you come to that conclusion? You checked, did you, that they used no science at all? Or did you count all the science and find out that they didn't use enough?

    Did they, perhaps, accidentally simulate gravity using an inverse-cube law?

    On the other hand it is not difficult for life to screen strong cosmic radiation, such as in the ocean and deep in the earth crust where most of the biomass exists.

    Don't scalpers make their money because they still have tickets to sell once the event is (directly) sold out? No-one buys from a scalper when there are still tickets available direct.

    If I buy 100 tickets at first-day prices under your scheme, what's to stop me still charging more than I paid for them to the people who've missed out now all the other tickets have been sold?

    So, translating "squiggle.wombat.banana" into Spanish would lead to a different location.

    I think they've tried to avoid transaltion clashes, so it wouldn't translate to a valid address at all.

    And without that, I don't see the benefit, really.

    The benefit is it works as proposed if two people speak the same language. And the kind of people who'd find this most useful are the kind of people less likely to need to cross any language barriers.

    It might be an idea to, like, RTFFAQ?

    I meant it doesn't work between speakers of different languages, i.e. translating purple.monkey.dishwasher into Chinese won't get you the same square (it probably won't even be valid).

    Yes, and he actually got an official act from a cop. Can't you read?

    I've already given a few license plate numbers via regular digital camera to the local police, who haven't arrested them, but paid them a friendly visit. Seems to help a lot.

    I've reported a few people over the years for (what I considered to be) dangerous driving and/or driving while using phones. My local cops are more than happy to take the details and call up the drivers. They've usually made it plain that it was unlikely to lead to any official sanction, although on a couple of occasions what I've reported has concerned them enough to ask if I was prepared to state such-and-such in court (I was; I didn't end up doing so).
