What the hell are you on about? "Here". You realise it's a damn big country that has a variety of climates?
I've drunk plenty of Black-Rock-desert-in-August temperature beer and I think this heat argument holds no water; the freezing is just to make shit beer less noticeable.
I should also mention that generally speaking Australians are just as bad as Americans in this regard, and our popular beers are shit too.
That's cool. I haven't heard about the larger ones (except someone mentioning in this thread that the DoD has expensive ones).
I wonder if you can unadapt (?) from natural movement with enough time on a poor omni treadmill. Recently I've been on running treadmills a bit, and it feels damn odd when I get off, but fades quickly.
Doesn't matter what kind of fancy sensors you put on your head, the fact is that you will not accelerate like your feet and eyes are suggesting. You will only ever move far enough to reach a leaning posture, rather than gaining velocity.
I think you're a suitably good cyclist that calling pedalling peddling is beneath you. Peddling is a word, but has nothing to do with cycling. I've only done a metric century. For some reason I just can't stay on bikes for hours.
Oh right, apart from the thousands of 20+ storey apartment blocks that house most of the people. I don't think you'd claim it's sprawling if you had ever visited. More dense than any place I've ever seen is a better description.
Thanks. I didn't realise that OTR wasn't widely known, so I wasn't too serious about mentioning it. FWIW, some mobile IM clients support it too. Gibberbot is flaky and uses too much battery, but contains the latest version of OTR which handles multiple devices per user nicely. Xabber is nice feature and stability wise, but uses an old version of OTR (as far as I can tell), and I can't get it to give me audible incoming IM notifications.
Do you really think an automated snooper cares if you throw mostly crap at it? It's not like they'd bother having sweatshops full of employees snooping on you manually. Computers have unlimited attention spans; I thought a/. poster would know better.
WTF, have none of you heard of OTR (Off The Record) IM encryption? You can't use it through the gmail interface, but you can use Google's IM network (which uses the jabber protocol) with third party IM clients which support OTR. What passes through Google's servers is then encrypted gibberish.
And you should not be using this just when you want to have a secret conversation; you use it all the time so that anybody snooping understands that you disagree with the principle of snooping, even when you have nothing to hide.
I borrowed one for a motorcycle track day and the fucking thing vibrated out of its sliding mount, never to be found again. The 625 cc single cylinder engine does vibrate a lot, even with a counterbalance shaft.
It's the actions and consequences thereof rather than the fact that they're offended. Hopefully it's an isolated incident and your "deal" statement is fair enough. But if it's not, I disagree with you.
You're obviously not an engineer of any kind.
Those pressures are only relevant to the material that the surface is made of, they are not at all indicative of the stresses through the depth of the road.
I'm not specifically addressing the joint wear, but to use the elite as examples for everyone is bullshit, and I suspect you know that and just got carried away. I'm sure exercisers doing things incorrectly is a contributing factor, but it's much more likely that for some reason they aren't as well suited to the task and will never be elite. We aren't all equal.
The high doesn't always work.
I used to feel pretty good after hard cycling (e.g. averaging 91% of max heart rate over half an hour) and going to the gym, but I've lost that feeling. Now I just feel wasted or minimally pleasant. I've already seen a few people here disputing that the high can disappear, but they have nothing to back it up, apart from "I'm not familiar with it". I think being unhappy *may* have something to do with it.
+1
I was about to just leave tibit's post alone because it's late, but you've mostly covered it.
Politics and the lack of being able to walk up to someone with a pencil and paper is a PITA. I've worked at a subcontractor that does structural analysis for Airbus, and I've also gone to Korea as a technical liaison, and I must say it's just a wee bit more complicated than tibit makes it out to be.

Bollocks. Have you looked at distance you can get 50 Mbps at? Few people are close enough to the exchange.
Not if both sides use the OTR plugin that comes with Pidgin.

Just like when I was there in 2010 while N Korea was shelling that S Korean island; nobody seemed to care.

I think a few people with mod points have confused insightfulness with highly subjective cynicism.

No audiophile has ever heard the difference between FLAC and 320Kbps mp3 audio in an ABX test at a statistical rate that is better than guessing.
That's a bold claim. You're going to be really disappointed with this thread.

Moar wooshes plz. Really, calm down and reread DNS-and-BIND's post.
I know, but I and the article specifically said "rockets" not "engines". One mission, one fucking rocket. Rockets = Apollo more-than-one-number.
And who the fuck is stupid enough to attribute multiple rockets to one mission?
Have you even looked at how a pin tumbler lock works? All you'd see is a series of pins at a constant height.

Fuck you for thinking it's a good idea to fire that in a city. It's going to land somewhere you know?
Nah, you're right; it's all supplements and positive attitude.
