    which range from assault and battery to attempted Murder. (personally if you are able i would start things up by decking said git so he can be charged just remember you need to be FIRST TO CALL 911 so you can set the story)

    actually when i said "somebody" i was not specifying who exactly did the bribing (in this case MS did not have to it was already done) and the subject of invalid patents is a long running subject @ Groklaw.

    in short if all you take away from your lessons is
    1 how to boil water without burning it
    2 how to cook an egg
    3 how to grill a Steak (or other hunk of %critter%)
    4 how to toast bread
    5 how to chop food without chopping YOU in the process

    then you can feed yourself decently

    if you learn a few more things (like how to Make Bread) then you stand a bit better at keeping your chosen SO yours (and other useful things)

    and as a Hacker you could be considered a GOD if you can do some stuff thats still short of MSC grade stuff. (hint if you can make Fudge starting with making the Chocolate your Lady Friends will worship you when they are feeling "Moon Burned")

    Not really since that 1 boat would have to be very lucky to do more than a trivial amount of damage to our boats.

    it would be more effective for them to sink THEIR OWN BOATS to block the channel (and would be cleared very quickly anyway since we would either swarm Naval Engineers/Salvage crews to the site and clear it quickly or just have one or more of our assets blown the ships into scrap.

    PEOPLE ARE CATTLE and whatever name given to the lower range intelligence members of each "race" should not be applied to ALL members of each race.

    But The real fight is making sure that the Cattle are protected enough but we Dogs/Wolves can get things done.

    1 there are these ships called OILERS that can and do deliver Oil (to other navy ships but...)

    2 all Navy ships would have to do is create Convoys with Oil Tankers

    what needs to happen is a few very simple things

    1 the actual "information" in a text book needs to be separated from the "test/example" portion of the book (maybe in a second volume??)

    2 it should be a FELONY to twiddle things around in a textbook just to justify a "New" edition (new edition means more actual content/updated content ect)

    3 Text books for Standard Core Content should be by law given to students (at nominal cost at most) so that they can refer back to them later (if its an E-Version then there should be a NoDRM copy given at ZERO COST).

    Publishers can make money on Test/Homework tracking things but the books themselves should not be the biggest chunk of year to year profits. (oh btw the access code for the Test Site should be always made available separate from the TextBook)

    its a scale thing when the fuel is spent you basically get a BAC with a hook to stick the whole core on a truck and then ship it to a long term storage facility or you do the really smart thing and cook the core long enough that any long term "gunk" has been spent.
