    they deliberately used the older 1.1 version of ODF since there is a bunch of "interesting" bugs in the spec
    (it writes out deliberately broken spreadsheets as an example) if i had to i would still install the sun odf plugin
    if i needed support

    and then there is my (completely theoretical) Gigahertz range multichannel jammer that can scramble your wireless
    connections from "down the street" combine that wiht a little SE or wardriving and bingo

    you can run a wired connect in a conduit with rf shielding very easy but somehow shielding whole rooms??

    not really since ATT/Verizon/T-mobile would link you to the REAL WORLD att website before they would ship you a REAL WORLD phone (now selling you a SL "phone" is a different matter)

    What some legal firms need to do is buy an island or two and then setup a branch office.

    There are a few ways to have a script in SL pull up a webpage im sure that some sort of real world contract could
    be signed by way of a special SL contracts page (which could require any needed SL >RL links)

    You see the trick is if the DOJ or any DO? type folks want to have access to a network line all that has to happen is

    1 That TLA (lets say its the NSA) rings up the FTC and makes sure that there is some sort of law they can use
        1 (optional substep) the needed law gets written
    2 a "special agent" goes to the NOC and says " i have a form B25673-X14 for you we are doing a network tap. Please inform any workers in this facility that the tap and any connections must be left in place and tampering with them violates the following Federal Laws (insert list of laws) and may be considered a Violation Of National Security* (insert threats of Gitmo or worse).

    *in this era VONS is a God level cheat code to get anything if you are a Fed type person

    besides when the phrase "bullet proof code" may involve actual real bullets you kind of want the guy doing the code for you to be Semper Fidelis compatible. The best way of course would be for this person to be a fellow marine.

    then you read off the anti telemarketer script and add the "no caller id felony" to the list of crimes you submit to the feds fun fact did you know that they are required to give you

    1 their name
    2 the business they are calling on behalf of
    3 a contact number (can't be out of country or a special charges line)

    and if you tell them to put you on their do not call list they must honor that request
    (and if you get the wording right that DNC "request" goes for any campaign that company runs)

    oh and you can record any and all conversations with telemarketers as long as you tell them first (most likely they will hang up fast)

    the thing with cell phones is one of the clauses of 47cfr64.1200 makes it illegal for somebody to telemarket to a cell phone (widely ignored by the scummier set but....)

    oh and no there has not been any change in the law to allow this since 47cfr64.1200 has not been changed
    (me i would just put my cell on the DNC list)

    okay lets see if this would partially work
    first thing the first firewall rule is deny all all ports

    A school registry system has the list of all the students and what classes they are in
    B have the on campus computers require an ID card (same one that works the doors/vending machines/cafeteria ect)
    that is chipped no card no login
    C the list will have a pre-screened set of sites (you don't have to scan the world just the bits you know about)
    D Network Gateway system anyone?? (bonus points if you can get carriers to blackhole net access/texting on the towers serving the school)

    well actually a real lawyer would have a six page header that explains

    1 that he may or may not have the tickets to give legal advise in your location
    2 he is not your lawyer and this communication does not create an attorney client relationship
    3 details of this situation may need to be found out to figure what the law states
    4 you may in fact be without a leg to stand on

    lets see (pulling the numbers from /dev/null and /dev/urandom)
    in a 1 gig block of data you have
    200 megs of overhead
    200 megs of retransmits due to the ISP [redacted]ing with the data stream
    300 megs of ads and DRM [redacted]
    100 megs of wasted data due to fancifed download links and redirect pages
    200 megs of actual useable data

    so if they want to do caps then they should be hands off of the data stream (no protocol blocking or shaping
    unless they have an actual with pen signed QOS agreement AND THIS AGREEEMENT STANDS UNLESS RESIGNED)

    what your counsel needs to do
    1 begin a counter suit in a GO FOR BLOOD type mode

    2 file an injunction with the court preventing them from "discussing details of the case(s) with parties not currently involved with the case" (why are they telling your customers that the status of their purchase may be in question??)

    3 file a DCMA notice on the images in question

    4 get lots of discovery, lots and lots of discovery

    what you need to do

    1 stop talking about the case! your last post should be that you did the DCMA notice and got your injunction

    2 contact all of your clients and inform them of the situation and offer to send them proof of copyright (higher res version with predated meta stamps or whatever)

    3 remember your actions should be clean and above the board (but hire a team that speaks MoFo grade law)
