    1 do a full audit of every machine in the company (first thing you need to buy is a company copy of Belarc Advisor or similar)

    2 list out the software in use and then match actual purchased keys to whats on the machines

    3 the really icky part buy licenses for everything in use that doesn't have a valid documented key or have that program not make it past your next Nuke And Pave cycle

    4 backup all of the data on the computers and then do a Nuke And Pave on all systems

    5 get a Boss+++++++ commit on a Valid License or It Gets Nuked policy

    The big problem i see is as you push for the upper end of strength/ intelligence the chances are greater that you will end up with a person that is unstable. So lets say you code to max out Intelligence and Strength to create a superstrong Einstein type person. Give that person 20 years and chances are you will see him on some burning city street with his arms spread and head tilted saying "WHY SO SERIOUS ????" (oh btw hes the reason the city is burning).

    and what fixes that is the sp3 full installer and one of a couple "offline patch" programs

    (bonus if you have the patch set you can do the install with no net connection)

    I would say that 90% of teachers teach from The Text Book as if it was a Gospel. Now just about everybody here knows that Documentation can be
            1 Flat Wrong
            2 overly conservative
            3 Outdated
            4 Incomplete

    But some teachers would argue C code with Kernighan and Ritchie while using isbn 0131103628 as a primary textbook!
    (and they will think they are the ones that are "right")

    Easy thing to do for nontrivial stuff (that has serial number)
    List the serial numbers that you were sold as being "stolen" = UnSupported (but the customer will be told that the serial is listed as being stolen)

    The general rule is "Required to be there" = "Required to be paid"

    example somebody calls in a bomb threat and the building is evacuated if your supervisor tells everybody to gather at the local starbucks down the street AND NOT LEAVE you need to be paid until the supervisor "a member of management" tells everybody "okay im calling it everybody can go"

    now in the case of a retail service shop you do in fact need to be paid until you are done with shutdown (since at least the last open cash drawer needs to be counted down) but most of the time you can't justify staying an hour and a half after close (since if it takes you that long to complete shutdown somebody is not doing their job [possibly the manager but...])
