    As bad as America looks right now, it is still by far a better place to live than China.

    Just because America is showing a bit of nastiness that's been hiding under the rug for the last half century, doesn't mean the rest of the world is any better.

    Where I live now, in eastern Europe, it is incredibly racist, unbelievably so, but the difference is that most people share those opinions so you don't have public outrage over a racist incident, people just nod their head in silent agreement and move on.

    Yes, the ESTATE pays the debt. If the estate cannot close the debt, as in pay it down to 0, it does not get passed on to the children - except those states who pass down medical bills

    In America, sure, for instance, you do not inherit your parents debt when they pass away.

    But this is China. Literally a world apart. "Family shame" is a very pervasive concept in Asia

    Fair enough. Was playing devils advocate.

    It sounds like they were targeting this guy. Calling in the K9 unit before the stop, getting a warrant for his phone based on a text message they saw on the lock screen to try and get "more evidence" on a "crime" he already admitted to.

    As first post put it: "Sounds like butthurt cops not getting their way backed by another butthurt judge" (The judge sounds butthurt too)

    So not only does a mobile user need to pay T-Mobile, Sprint, etc for data, but then they need pay Comcast for the ability to use that data if it's >480p?!

    Wow. Good thing the FCC / FTC / current administration all have the consumers back.........

    Then refuse to work, yes you may get fired, but what's worse than getting fired? Working for free.

    My boss is lucky if I even look at my phone off-business-hours, let alone pick it up and respond.

    Sure, if an email is prefixed with "URGENT" or whatever, I take a look, but then I lazily come in the next day an hour or two "late".

    It's all about the contract you signed with your employer. Don't sign shit you haven't read, and don't sign away your youth for pennies.

    So you're saying that my "experimentation" of cross-breeding plants and getting lucky with a seed strain similar to the one in FTFA would not violate any patents?

    Let's say I had two of these seeds. I planted the first, found out what it could do, then planted the second and turned it into a mother plant from which I take a lot of clones.

    Or what if I continue to cross-breed the original two strains?

    Honestly curious, you're first answer has me even more curious.

    Production costs alone do not dictate the retail price - especially with vehicle parts, some of them can be kinda heavy - distribution logistics increases the price more than manufacturing sometimes...

    But in the case, ya, you are right. I've experienced this myself when replacing some parts on my bike...

    I use gitlab, and I have to agree with what GP said, gitlab will use everything it can get it's hands into.

    I tried looking into why, apparently some issue with Ruby on rails memory management.

    Long story short, if you use gitlab, put it on its own server with nothing else running, give it 2 CPUs and 4 GB of RAM, and you'll be fine.

    I honestly didn't have to do anything.

    I bought an Alexa in the States while visiting, then plugged it in, installed the Pandora skill, and it worked.

    VPN's are so hard. /s

    As a long time user of Pandora, and as an American living outside of the US, connecting to a VPN in the States to use State-side services is a daily occurrence and is a brainless operation now. Stop whining.

    Actually, after hooking up Alexa, she seems to be able to stream Pandora without a VPN to the States. Nice work around for now, but requires Alexa.

    Instead of flying 40 miles around another plane, they can keep it around 15 miles.

    It's the difference between the first lane on a race track and the 100th outside lane. That outside lane has quite a lot of ground to cover.

    Aircraft currently crossing that pond report their positions every few minutes as they fly set routes, keeping at least 40 miles apart. Aireon said its satellite-based system could allow for 15 miles of separation on oceanic routes, making room for more planes.

    What I do not understand about all these companies using blockchain to provide all these transparent services is this:

    Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but doesn't 50.000...0001% of the network decide what is the current, valid blockchain? If a company owns the entire network, then there is no real "transparency", as they can just change the records whenever they want and say "See look! Our in-house blockchain network says it was always like this, then it must be true."

    I may be completely missing the mark on what they would use though...
