My friend cyborg_monkey is, as always, his own entity, and not formally tied to any crapflooding or trolling factions.

WIPO, as far as I know, has been eaten by a large elephant... I really don't know.

I have nothing against blatant sensationalism, especially for the sake of pure, fully-adulterated entertainment. But this? You are posting pure shit-encrusted bile. Please, put forth more effort. This is really quite sad.

p.s. - the sporks are not really 'trolls' per se, they are for the most part crapflooders, par excellence, with the occasional troll-post included at whim.

But! (and there is always a 'but') It is good that there will be something else. I've been using Microfrontier's ColorIt for years. Yeah, I'm not a professional graphic artist, but I've done a number of various newsletters, web-sites, and the like for my family and organizations I work with. Its always nice to be able to have high quality graphics, and to generate them from quality software that did not require giving blood and the selling of offspring.

I will admit that I use PageMaker for my layouts, but I don't need Photoshop to be compaitble... PageMaker will import any old graphic just fine. And I would welcome the Gimp as an added tool in my arsenal on the Mac (especially once I get a new one with OS X).

HP's hplc's all use the HPIB board for interface, correct? well, HPIB is exactly(?) the same as GPIB, which is built into linux. So, it should be very easy (I know someone who's done this with an HP oscilloscope, same interface as HPLC) to get your linux computer to see and then talk to your HP hplc. I've heard of someone in the Cambridge Mass area running an old 1090 with linux. I have no idea what they're doing to render the chromatography useful, but I know you can control the instrument. Most of the documentation you'd need is in the hplc's user manual.
