to go around and randomly patent things then randomly sue people.
these companies make it seem almost fun.
every time I see companies do crap like this, and then I see the same kind of crap happen at work with our competitors, it makes me want to quit, but yet I don't, because I hope that in the greater scheme of things, this stupid litigation will be moot.
...why a lot of "old school" acts have ditched the major record labels to go to small labels so that they can control what they produce and how their music is distributed.
That question is open, but a jihad to beat them to the punch is an obvious distaster.
then don't beat them to the punch... beat them with a better product.
Stop worrying about "world-dominance" and start worrying about what matters: software that doesn't suck. I like StarOffice, I'd love to have OpenOffice on my Macs (still impatiently waiting for my wife to let me buy a new one with OS X).
(speaking of stupid comments) Jocular?

and, really, the "offending" post really wasn't all that unfunny. perhaps you need a fresh outlook on life.

no... I assume you are reading this, which clearly states that evil_spork is the de-facto leader, and that benevolent_spork was a sort of 2nd in command. As was announced on GiZ by evil_spork, benevolent_spork and motherfuckin_spork were appointed to the newly formed Spork Senate.

if they weren't so painfully moronic.
now, as far as Benevolent Spork being the leader, if you were to check your resources, you'd know that evil_spork is the de-facto leader, with benevolent_spork and motherfuckin_spork as members of the Spork Senate.
My friend cyborg_monkey is, as always, his own entity, and not formally tied to any crapflooding or trolling factions.
WIPO, as far as I know, has been eaten by a large elephant... I really don't know.
I have nothing against blatant sensationalism, especially for the sake of pure, fully-adulterated entertainment. But this? You are posting pure shit-encrusted bile. Please, put forth more effort. This is really quite sad.
p.s. - the sporks are not really 'trolls' per se, they are for the most part crapflooders, par excellence, with the occasional troll-post included at whim.
you have an excellent point - which I feel shows that mix of liberalism and conservativism most artist (including myself) have.
But! (and there is always a 'but') It is good that there will be something else. I've been using Microfrontier's ColorIt for years. Yeah, I'm not a professional graphic artist, but I've done a number of various newsletters, web-sites, and the like for my family and organizations I work with. Its always nice to be able to have high quality graphics, and to generate them from quality software that did not require giving blood and the selling of offspring.
I will admit that I use PageMaker for my layouts, but I don't need Photoshop to be compaitble... PageMaker will import any old graphic just fine. And I would welcome the Gimp as an added tool in my arsenal on the Mac (especially once I get a new one with OS X).
To be truly fair, they need to extend this support to allowing Atari 2600's and Pong boxes to join in the fun. Yeah, so there are no games in common, but that's not the point! I'm talking about true compatability!
HP's hplc's all use the HPIB board for interface, correct? well, HPIB is exactly(?) the same as GPIB, which is built into linux. So, it should be very easy (I know someone who's done this with an HP oscilloscope, same interface as HPLC) to get your linux computer to see and then talk to your HP hplc. I've heard of someone in the Cambridge Mass area running an old 1090 with linux. I have no idea what they're doing to render the chromatography useful, but I know you can control the instrument. Most of the documentation you'd need is in the hplc's user manual.
this is a troll??? you moderators been smokin' glorious amounts of crack again? Seems to me this guy, albeit a spork, asked a legit question. Do we really need JXTA?
So tell me, do we? I don't think so. I happen to agree with him.
Troll my ass, you're just pissed off becuase he joined the "spork-nation".
Get over it, people. Let the sporks play - and in this case, let the sporks ask what they want - especially when it is relevant.
shit... where I work, the IT people locked themselves in the server room and wouldn't anser the door or the phone. Of course, its because they were having an affair, which lead to both of them getting divorced and are now married to each other... I think they played quite a lot... and our IT suffered greatly... the new IT guy (the lovers got fired/quit) is still repairing the mess they caused.
ooo... organic DNS... just plug in your head... I think I can get venture funding for this...

its late, I'm going to bed.
many thanks in advance.
Is Caroline actually controlled by EMI, or just a holding of EMI? Just wondering.
it is all her fault!
