I'd like to be able to fix a programmer's bug without having to wait for them to do it. My pet peeves don't always rank up there with a software departments priority list. Then there's always the case of wading your way through some support rep on the phone and explaining to all-too-many people how do duplicate your headache.
If you remove the web from the equasion and think of it in terms of a printed piece of paper, leaving your confidential information in a public place doesn't seem like the brightest of ideas, does it? It doesn't matter if the piece of paper is facing down, you've still put it in a public place.
While I don't think Reuters was justified in printing unpublished information, the fault still falls back to the company.
I've seen full frontal on TV commercials in Europe. It's really no big deal.
If parents didn't have to worry about being thrown in jail for abusing their children because they gave them a spanking...
In any case, what difference does it make if Big Retailer doesn't carry it? You can still buy it, and people will. If WalMart doesn't want my money, that's fine. I'll give it to someone else who does (and is less of a hypocrite).

So if I use it to boot to command line.. what am I paying $1000/unlimited users for then? Support? I can get that with any commercial linux distro. I can NOT pay a per user license.
Apple has found a niche. It's much like Sun, SGI, etc. Apple is just a bit more successful at markting it.
Heh, I was just going to post the exact same comment.
A pretty OS X desktop I can understand. If Apple were really with it, they'd port it to x86 and start yanking Windows customers over in droves. Most consumers don't want to pay for Apple's overpriced hardware.
A GUI on a server sort of redirects the server focus doesn't it? My servers are built for stability, speed and then ease of use. Apple has this backwards, I think.

If you're a Network or System Administrator, you should KNOW you're not safe.
You SHOULD be testing your systems constantly. You SHOULD be installing new patches. You SHOULD be subscribed to CERT style mailings.
You SHOULD NOT think you are safe because you're small. Security though obscurity is the biggest false sense if security I've seen. Former employees, especially the guy you replaced are a pretty large threat.
Nextel has a rate plan (at least in my area) where all incoming calls are free.
I'd gladly have 300 minutes a month if I said "Call me back on my cell". Plan starts at $60.00. Not quite so feasable when you use your cell phone for making LD calls though.
By the looks of the first thread, if you post in the Apple group, you're trolling.
Sweet. My first Troll mod.
Perhaps I should have said "People still use dialup?" to avoid the confusion vs Cable/DSL and analog modems.
People still use modems?
Wasn't there a reporter who snuck a gun on a plane, to prove it could be done? I seem to remember him getting in a bit of trouble for that one.
Nevermind, I can't find it on Google news, so it must not exist.
Nah. You use a reader that uses biometric electricity to complete an electrical circuit through your finger.
Now all you have to do is avoid a static electricity shock that fries the unit.
I actually asked for one for Christmas... that and a sense of humor, but I think all I'll be getting is LOTR on DVD. :\
Engineering.

I use RH. I am RH biased. Caldera sounds good, but typically the only way you can find the quirks is to install it yourself.
Without having to install each one, I'd like to get an idea for which distro is right for me.
Can someone point me to a nonbiased article about the pros and cons of using the major linux distros.
