Why doesn't India look down before it looks up.
Look down and see the squalor that so much of their people live in. Seems like a waste of money to go and get moon cheese when your people at home need the help more.
I have used these which have been around for a while (a repacked IPAQ). I'm not sure if >$1000 counts as consumer, but anyone can buy them. They have a touchscreen that is scratch resistant, but obviously not scratch-proof.
Hmmmm.. my school just locks your port when you start DOS or port scanning... I would think this would be a more reasonable approach instead of banning an OS..
not bozos, it's the government guidlines. For instance the fuel systems have redundent processor units. when started both are online with the slave electronicly disconencted. Following FAA guidlines dictates that a one strike and your out is enforced. At the first sign of CPU trouble (crash, freeze, any electronic part failing within the system) all inputs and ouputs on the unit are sent to high-z and the other unit takes over. Now the reboot part, the first unit will sit in a frozen state indefintly until it is manualy reset with a POR or full HR. But the plane will fly just fine on the redundent system. In an emergency the pilot can manualy reboot the halted system and it will either start up again (if the inital failure was some glitch) or immidiatly halt again if it was a critical falure.
Its not a new toy, they have had it for at least 4 years. They drag it out to all the competitions and set it up net to their tent. I have only seen it fired once but must have seen it displayed two or three dozen times. The cannon they drag along on the back shoots tee-shirts out at the crowd.

Violence in a game is always seen as a terrible thing. Especially in this day and age with violence everywhere, I really don't see 2 tanks shooting each other as incredibly violent. Have you played Soldier of fortune or any recent 1st person shooter? You can de-limb a victim and see the blood splatter against the wall.
Even if this game is violent think of what it is doing, it's trying to get people involved in programming and computers in general. I attend an engineering school and have been amazed at the number of people that have no computer knowledge of any sort, especially in a technological field. Things like this could get people involved at a high school level in computers, so violence is bad, but sometimes the benefits are worth the cost.
Am I the only one that has ever noticed the 30 lbs of dust inside my computer? Build it one day, 4 hours later, you can't even pick the case up there is so much dust. Yea' that's what I want my guests to see. "Come'on over and see my ribbon cables knotted up and my dusty dirty computer case".
Yea i think you're right. I remember windows 98 blue screan of death at a computer show:

"Copyright protected cd's do not allow you to replicate them in a cd burner nor do they allow you to rip the audio tracks "digitally" ", Sounds very familiar... divix anyone?
Didn't they learn, they spent x millions of dollars on DVD encoding that was "hack proof" and "someone i know" has backed up all thier DVDs to divix.

But then again, I guess the US is no example.

Well if this does halt DSN, we may have slashdotted, slashdot..
Is it wise to slashdot one of the most renound phreakers webserver? Better watch out OSDN.
Isn't this the same idea as DSL? Using audio frequencies outside our hearing range to transmit data?

If you want somone to blame, dont look at george jr. We all know he is a puppet. try looking at george Sr..
Note George Jr has spent just under 42% of his time in office on vacation..
