Indeed, even the lowliest of Dell servers running Linux or FreeBSD can easily handle 5 million email messages, even if sent in a very short period of time.
Erm, i'd severely doubt that, let me email 5,000,000 messages in 5 minutes and see if your server/network dies.
As soon as you have agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions of the EULA, this CD will automatically install a small proprietary software program (the "SOFTWARE") onto YOUR COMPUTER. The SOFTWARE is intended to protect the audio files embodied on the CD, and it may also facilitate your use of the DIGITAL CONTENT. Once installed, the SOFTWARE will reside on YOUR COMPUTER until removed or deleted. However, the SOFTWARE will not be used at any time to collect any personal information from you, whether stored on YOUR COMPUTER or otherwise.
Umm, nice to see that you didn't read the EULA either.
Kinda off topic, but somewhat related. Reading through the article it talks about how it hid complete folders from a directory listing. I accidently did that once when i was backing up a hard drive to another one, at first I thought I lost it, but magically I could open it directly. Was hidden to Explorer, dir, and ls -a through cygwin. No clue on how I did it in the first place, much less how to enable/disable it.
You do gotta remember Sony isn't 1 small company of 500 people. Really is a case of right hand doesn't know the left hand type of thing.
Yea, and there's probably a huge Cost of Living difference between there and here too.
$4 there probably goes alot further then $4 here.
Just what we need. Fat people suing McDonalds for making them fat, and coffee junkies suing $random_coffee_corp.
Now in the US, how many torrent trackers were forced to shutdown? Free speech my ass.
Free speech doesnt cover encouraging/helping/aiding/abetting copyright infringement.
My guess is mostlikely: this, or an extension thereof. So to answer:
Yes
Dunno
Most likely
Pretty Reasonable, depending.
Likely not.
"AOL says that since it will control the network, it can protect users from the sorts of viruses and spyware that infect other peer-to-peer systems."
Yea . . . uh . . you know . . . AHAHAHAHHAHA, no i'm sorry, there's no way I can make a serious comment about that.
Maybe that's why my grandpa moved to Montana, he's Nostradamus in disguise!
I've seen those around *alot*, so dunno where you're getting too complex a change from.
"In the IPv6 case he gets a public IP address routable from the world. Some number of seconds later the box(es) are spam zombies."
Yo you know how large IPv6 space is? And how long it'd take for a randomly scanning exploiter to find a single computer, much less a vulnerable one?
music cd's dont have DRM on them. Period. if they do they can't legally have the CD logo on them (or something like that, yay for trademarks)
AES is a symettric cipher correct?

If you Google for "Web Design" they come up as #4 for me.
Uh . . . Magical Musical Bits? And purdy moving pictures?
If you ignore the EULA given then yes, it wasn't 'advertised'
nope, it's still there.
So did you actually hook the lights up this time, or is this another case of You being full of shit?
