In another 10 years when they ask this again, I'll have my Starcraft, Diablo, Day of the Tentacle, and Star Wars Rebellion to brag about.
Powell was on Face the Nation this morning. He clarified his doctrine was one of "decisive force", not "overwhelming force". The difference being what, I'm not sure, but he seemed adamant about it.
1. This license must accompany any Software to which it is affixed. Any attempt to circumvent this restriction will result in the effect of this license upon said Software to be null and void.
2. This license has no social agenda. Any insinuation that it does, in fact, have an agenda will result in the effect of this license upon aforementioned Software to be null and void.
3. This license entitles the User to distribute any software under this license as said User sees fit. Any attempts to restrict a user in this right will render the license null and void in the presence of the Restrictor for so long as the Restrictor continues restricting the User.
The main benefit of issuing an IPO is the massive amount of cash that is immediately infused into the company. The company usually has some sort of business plan that includes the spending of this money through acquisitions, research, and general company growth. The company will be able to do things that it could only dream of without that money. A company going IPO without a reasonable plan as to how the money will be spent is not a company that you want to be invested in.
Of course, with this newfound money comes new responsibility. The company heads become beholden to the shareholders and the never-ceasing demands of the market. If the principals make one bad decision, a barrage of lawsuits are bound to rain down. An unlucky company may soon find itself making decisions that bolster the short term stock price instead of making decisions that strengthen the company for the long term. The lucky company, though, may make it past its first few years and into steady cash flow well enough that it can take gambles that other companies both public and private could only imagine (Microsoft, anyone?).

The fact that they have reached a point that hijacking planes and crashing them into highly-populated office buildings seems like a good idea. Do you think they have any common ground with their targets? Do you think their greivances are so large that this kind of action can be justified?

Your second point would void any support contract regardless of manufacturer.
Of course, if manufacturer support is not important because a full-time tech can be brought in to manage the heterogenous system, then my point is moot.
Interestingly, Pat Robertson reflected on his stance on the death penalty and came to the conclusion that being Pro-Life and also Pro-Death Penalty was logically inconsistent. I'm not sure if he eventually changed his mind, the Judeo-Christian canon also specifies "an eye for an eye"-type justice so a move to an anti-Death Penalty stance would be problematic from that aspect.
As for what Jesus would say about saving the many by sacrificing the few, I think you can look to the parable about the flock of sheep and the lost lamb for the answer. Now to say that an embryo is equivalent to a 'lost lamb' is where the debate really lies.
Are embryonic stem cells the only feasible method of curing what ails us? How does that jive with this research? Are there other non-embryo based stem cells that can be used?
It would seem that the fervor over this debate would die if there was some way to avoid using embryos altogether. Is it simply impossible to do this without them?
If we just warm the Earth enough, we wouldn't have to worry about anti-freeze...
OTOH, how would we splice these proteins into our human genome such that cryonics would actually be possible without exploding cell walls during freezing? I wish there was more about that in the article.

It's public. It's just not available to the general public.

Please name this book so as to hold it up for public ridicule. MS Press books don't even go as far as to suggest something like that.

Most Americans know the difference between the possessive and plural form.
I defy you to prove that. Sadly, I doubt you can.
