I think he's trying to point out that, just because it's, say, AOL/Nullsoft being charged, that doesn't mean they (AOL/Nullsoft) can't pass the charges on to us, the end user.
Your numbers assume that only one person could be downloading one movie at any given time, which, as I'm sure you're aware of, is completely unrealistic.
Everyone should call their ISP, demanding to be protected from RIAA!
I thought about doing that, but then realized that "Save me from the RIAA, because I download music illegally" might not be the best thing to say to your ISP...
I'm on AT&T Broadband Internet in western PA, and attempting to access the Listen4Ever website gives me a "Site Not Found: No web site is configured at this address" with Mozilla 1.0, and a standard "404 Not Found" with IE6.
You may want to go back and watch that part of the trailer again. The woman has a bare shoulder, and there is obviously some dark clothing which narrows at her neck. Hardly naked if you ask me....and Picard is "the man" (pun intended).
Upgrade? Right... Apparently NASA isn't aware of the new version that was just released. I think they'll be pleasantly surprised when it only costs them half of their yearly budget...
Maybe they should turn to the Open Source community for "Crawler" development...?
well, not for the sex with Liv Tyler part, but wait 17 more years before you round up the hooligans. gotta make it dramatic, you know? someone's gonna want the rip-off-movie rights.
an asteroid would have to get really close to Earth for the atmosphere to have any kind of effect on it.
even then, if it came in at a very low angle, the asteroid would just bounce right off our upper atmosphere and keep going. this actually happened a while (a couple decades?) ago, although the rock wasn't all that big, if i remember correctly...
What they should've done, instead, was have him hit on her.... Yeah, you heard me, hit on her. This is the same Yoda who stole Luke's flashlight, and couldn't help but tease him repeatedly when he first met him, after all..
actually, i got the impression that he was hitting on her...
- the scene with Yoda and the little kids was insanely embarrassing. It had one purpose, and one purpose only; to relate to the audience that Obiwan got permission from Yoda to visit the cloner's planet. Such a minor bureaucratic factoid, and Lucas decides to make it the focal point for a CG Yoda scene.
i thought that scene was also meant to show us a different side to Yoda.: a caring teacher... also to give some familiarity to the movie and identify the blast helmet/training droid as a standard Jedi training exercise.
this problem won't remain exclusive to kazaa/fastrack. in fact, if you're a smart user, you won't have to worry one bit about using kazaa. you're being overly paranoid, methinks.
thus circumventing the stranglehold the RIAA has on the music industry
the RIAA claims to protect artists' intellectual property (basically)... the DMCA has made circumvention of copy protection systems (the riaa in this case) a crime... therefore kazaa and verizon are conspiring to commit a crime...
this is the part where the RIAA begins chanting "sue! sue! sue! sue! sue!", isn't it?

There's a reason the site's called "Voodoo Physics":
voodoo:
4. Deceptive or delusive nonsense.
Most of the stories have been available elsewhere for sometimes up to two days. If Slashdot's already 48 hours behind, what's another 6? Heh.
Then what the fuck good is any dictionary?
Your numbers assume that only one person could be downloading one movie at any given time, which, as I'm sure you're aware of, is completely unrealistic.
No, the real problem is that music artists are getting lazier and less creative.
I'm on AT&T Broadband Internet in western PA, and attempting to access the Listen4Ever website gives me a "Site Not Found: No web site is configured at this address" with Mozilla 1.0, and a standard "404 Not Found" with IE6.
Anyone have any more info about this?
It looks like Picard, but I'm only really basing that belief on the bald head...

What shmoe wouldn't put a bid in for that? =oP

you must get visually nauseous when thinking about any kind of professional sport, then...

...or were you referring to the jabba/leia relationship. oh wait. "hero". right...
hmm... lando? nah.
luke? [shudders] there's a damn good reason for that one...
maybe you're thinking of that fuzzy little ewok? or maybe you're the one not remembering something?
but do they own any musicians, or have they made a movie? no.
