which is why the A380 and other bigger planes are the right choice
I don't think that it is the right choice. Consider the time needed to load/unload the passengers. Consider then the upgrades needed to the jetways to connect to the plane. The A3xx is a relic of the antiquated hub and spoke system. It was great when there were only a few large airports, but times have changed.
In MacOS X videolan (videolan.org) had a problem with QT 6 Preview. Does anyone know if the problem persists with the real version of QT 6 or should I stay with QT 5?

Quartz Extreme
Jaguar dramatically improves the performance of Mac OS X with Quartz Extreme. Jaguar lets Quartz offload compositing tasks to a supported* video card, using OpenGL to accelerate the drawing and compositing of graphics. As with the benefits 3D games get from a video co-processor, the main CPU chip(s) can then focus on application-specific needs. That means your shadows will drop quickly, your genies will appear slicker and your transparencies will layer faster -- and Mac OS X can do more processing in the background while you move the foreground.
*nVidia: GeForce2MX, GeForce3, GeForce4 Ti, GeForce4 or GeForce4MX. ATI: any AGP Radeon card. 32MB VRAM recommended for optimum performance.
I think that means the ATI Radeon Mobility would be supported but that is only a guess on my part
You can compile Quartz rendering into Mozilla? Please tell me how or point me to the directions...I'd love to try it out. When compileing would it also be possible to leave out all of the composer and mail junk too?
Loca-Cola...so is that the drink that makes you crazy or makes you not crazy? Or, as a crazy person, is Loca Cola the beverage I should consume to help identify myself to other crazy people?
I took a Sun SparcIPX case and stuck my old K62/400 system inside. It was a fun little project with the eventual goal of turning it into a Linux broadband router+firewall. If anyone is interested one of these days I'll post the pics for all to enjoy. Next project is to put a PC into a Sparc 5 case.
...that this would just make things easier for a Linux newbie to break the OS. Then they can't fix it and are screwed. Then you lose a new Linux user because they don't want to feel stupid using their computer.
I'm partial to the idea that the biblical flood was actually the Black Sea filling up. IIRC there were settlements found beneath the water, making this idea plausible.
Microsoft should be forced to spend that billion bucks on iMacs for the schools. That way MS can't profit on the OS upgrade cycle like they intend. Plus the kids can still run all the edutainment software.
All I want for Christmas is gift cards. Why? Because I don't know what I want. I got a $50 gift card for the Gap last Christmas and finally used it last month. I got something like seven shirts all on sale with that one card (no corporate logos - i'm not wearing a company's logo unless they gave me the shirt for free). That way I'm not stuck with an item I don't want and can spend the money when I really need it. I don't need any electronic gadgets - I have too many as it is. I need to ebay some of this stuff I don't use. Simplify, man.
I've been trying to work out a feasible open source donationware system along those lines. It would go along the lines of: Programmer A sees a need for program X. He puts up his site on sourceforge saying "this is what X will do, blah blah features, etc etc." People who think that this would benefit them could throw in a dollar or two which would go to the programmer and help pay for his time/bandwidth/food/clothes/a bath/whatever. The source remains open, the programmer gets some money, everybody wins. Bigger, more daring programs that require a more people could put forth a budget and a timeline and request money to fund their project.
You still get some free loaders but it still gives the opportunity for some opensourcers to literaly put their money where their mouth is. It's like a distributed benefactor system. A big problem to overcome is that damn 15% commission that Amazon charges. If something like this ever took hold I'd be willing to help out and take a smaller commision of 5-10% - like an opensource paypal.

What does journaling do for me? For average usage (email, web, etc) do I need it? Should I use it on my internal drives? FireWire drives?
They're more than meet the eye
Our world is designed for one standard hand of 4 fingers and a thumb.

Have you considered an Apple Powerbook?

Itanium? Try Titanium
If you reformatted the drive in UFS it would be case sensative. The standard, out of the box file system (HFS+) isn't.

I never actually saw the Phantom Edit and I'd like to know where on the web I can find a copy.

The motherboard I used was just the right size. Don't have any documentation handy so I can't tell you brand/model#.

Hopefully the ability to take desktop sceen captures will be part of the next release. Nothing better than digital stills of a laptop screen ;)

When the christians burned the library of Alexandria
The Library of Alexandria was burned by the Romans at the time of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. That is pre-Christianity.
It didn't sink. The water level merely rose up. (Think melting polar ice due to ending of last Ice Age)

I'm going to go climb back into my bottle now.
