Try listening to some of the unabridged audio book versions. I think they get death pretty close to how it should be. It needs to be louder then most normal speaking voices with a somewhat slow delivery but even and full of presence. At least thats how I performed for my wife when I was reading the books to her. The hardest voice I had to do IMO was Cohen before he got his "dent chewers"(I forget how exactly he said the word before he had them), always asking for shoup.
Funny, I always thought a funeral was to celebrate the life of the person who has passed on, not berate and rant at the family members for not praying hard enough.
So what is it when you are not revolted by the idea of being with men but prefer heterosexual relationships or vice versa (in terms of genders)? Most of the time things are painted the way you and other posters present, but I think there is more then those twists out there. Frankly I'm boggled anyone can be revolted by much of anything simple like gender. Now scat/torture or other extreme stuff will produce an extreme reaction in people and I understand that. I am always wishing I could burn out the part of my mind where tubgirl is stored, I'm not really bothered by goatse, or the female equivalent (they exist).
If all the Science Fiction writes I read growing up thought so it must be true! I just cant wait to get a second right arm when my left one is blown off so I can shake hands with myself.
I'm on my third PS2 (glad I only bought 2 of the 3). I think it would be safe to reduce the "installed" (as in functioning and playable) numbers down to about 30-40 million if they are lucky.
I quite enjoyed Emperors New Groove, even if it was just a typical buddy film that has been done am illion times. I'm also told Lilo and Stich was good quality as well. It would appear the studio that was closed down was responsable for these better films. While the micro managed close to HQ studio is the one producing things people have not liked.
The true masochists install gentoo on Alpha chips. Nothing like installing on a platform with virtually no accurate documentation or that completely leaves tons of information out. It forgets to mention an earlier choice may cause you to restart the whole process when you are almost done, or tell you to keep track of some information because it's needed for later on but forget to include that later part in the docs.
I finally got it running and it was emerging gnome last I saw it (all this to run gnucash).
Next I will move on and emerge rims, ground_effect, exhaust and spoiler.;-)
"Bush killed 30k in Iraq because someone dropped a spoon."
Are you saying the Bush not only wields Supreme Executive Power but also wields Real Ultimate Power? Clearly when the spoon was dropped he flipped out and the end result was 30K deaths.
I think we should have more shows hosted by Red Dwarf cast members. Cat can be a disigner on Changing Rooms, Holly can host the next run of Big Brother, Lister can do a cooking show and Rimmer can do low budget educational shows.
I have a few issues of the (AFAIK published in french before the translated Heavy Metal) Metal Hurlant (I'd do the proper letters, but I always have trouble with them here) from back in the 70's. I suspect they may have had some influence. I notice from back in those days stories like Den of Earth had much more to them then the short for time versions that made it into the animated film.
Speaking of B7 it does not help that it looks like 3 hypodermic needles were used for the "arms" of the Liberator. I wonder what Orac could do in the new BSG universe and how Space Commander Travis would do in the new Dr. Who. Didn't Terry Nation do some of the original Who stuff as well?
"SCY was about an alien saving the human race from said alien's evil counterpart, and the goal was to get to the alien in the ship. Crusade had no such set goal, only a sort of researchish mandate to explore what the First Ones had left behind and find some tech that could help. The story was also much more about trust and responsibility."
I'm not saying it was a direct rip with no original merit. I do think however, that the two goals are almost the same. In Yamato they had to get to the alien tech and back before the earth was beyond redemption (1 year if I remember in the US version). In Crusade, at least the few episodes they put out for us to watch they were searching for the cure and as I remember (It has been a while) they had 5 years or so based on whatever the bioweapon was. So the only difference in goal was how long they had and weather they knew where to get the alien tech to save the day.
Geeze why are B5ers so defensive. I even liked Crusade for the most part.

Maybe I go to the wrong funerals.

I enjoyed reading your last line and then your sig.

This leads me to conclude the GWB is a mammal.
Its called a handkerchief or hanky for short.
I wish I had mod points and you had logged in.
So they should have gone to Brazil?

Who invented Goldy and Bronzy then?
"Plus it's a great way to pick up women!"
What, robbing banks? Only if her name is Bonnie.

Isnt Rez a port from the Dreamcast?
I tried to take it seriously, but the only thing I can think of while reading this is this article.
What no love for the MCA bus?
Do you know how hard it is to go all the way to OZ and get one of those beasts?
I believe there is documentary of this called Megaforce.
why wont anyone ever talk about the fifth elephant?
What? The curtains?
