Did protoculture being an energy source make robotech better or worse? How did you handle D.Y.R.L. using it in the original sense? Frankly it made more sense to me in it's original state and having the Pods/Veritechs powered by traditional reactors.
actually most of the toys were made with a better quality. Less cheap plastic crap that broke imediately.
Of corse Tonka was neigh invulnrable. They just got old, slightly dented, and scratched. They end up looking more like the real trucks there were modeled after.
Star blazers was great, but still was tamed down a whole lot for us kids. In the real story everyone dies except I think Venture, then everyone is saved by His alien lover (most of the plot between them was dumbed down), the suicide of Deslok and then there was the whole saki/spring water thing. That was just the quest for Iskandar. The Comet Empire story line had lots more death and drinking.
I do have to say for the time it was brought over it was relatively unchanged compared to Battle of the Planets or Robotech. Protoculture isn't an energy source, the Pods and Veritechs ran off nuke reactors. Don't get me started on the changes made to make the other 2 shows "fit" into the Macross storyline.
"I mean, come on, what the hell is the FTC gonna do about Rove?"
well one could argue that some of the pollitical dirty tricks he has used are in the realm of illegal activity (false advertising) like when he had his people paper areas with pamplets purporting to be from his political opponent claiming to support standpoints that person did not.
No matter what political viewpoint you may have he is a horrible human beang and deserves everything that ever comes to him in the way of bad Karma. There is a special place in hell for him that even the devil wouldn't put politicians in.
As fo there being "some things that should not be out for public consumption". How is the public consuming this? YOU have to chose to buy rated M game (now AO) and choose to play a certain way to do the worst stuff you can in the game. On top of all that YOU have to choose to download a modification, choose to buy the hardware to read/write PS2 save cards, choose to download the code that modifies the game to allow access to the content, chose to perform the modification, choose to play the game with the modification, chose to engage in torrid virtual rumpy pumpy.
There is a lot of choice there and YOU can chose to not do any of it. If YOUR kids are allowed unfettered access to M rated games and the internet you have bigger problems and should surrender them to childerns services and turn yourself in for child abuse.
How did rockstar bypas the ESRB? They submitted what a player will encounter in normal gameplay. The sex game was locked off, there is absolutely no way to access the sex game without modifying it. This is something outside of rockstars control and not part of "normal gameplay experiance".
The FTC better just tell the house to fuck off as this is all total bullshit.
I thought a Republican house tool is the one behind the house action. As Clinton even as evil as she is is a Senator and not party to this particular event in any meaningful way.
If Rockstar is held to be accountable for the locked off stuff then I suspect coolwebserch is in for a major ass reaming. Couldnt happen to a nicer bunch of people.
We do not need to kill the EC, we need to get rid of that bullshit, unamerican, unconstitutional, unrepresentative of the will of the people, winner takes all bullshit allocation. As long as the EC votes are divided by the vote we stand a fair chance IMO.
From what I see Pro Wrasslin is what kids move on to imitating, some really dangerous stuff they do (the kids imitating the adults) like braining peopel with folding chairs and tables.
Here are some different examples of "adventure games"
Kings Quest
Calahans Crosstime Saloon
Myst: Uru
Loom
Siberia
Little Big Adventure
The Longest Journey
Beneath a Steel Sky
Discworld Noir
Oddworld games are mostly platformers with some puzzles, just like Tomb Raider games are platformers with some puzzles.
Point and click is not what defines an Adventure game, that is just one of the common interfaces that was used. Long before that they used to use a text parser. Now usually you directly control a character as you move them to thins to interact with.
You will find a lot of action/adventure games out there, like Run Like Hell. Other times you will see a mix of RPG action and adventure or RPG and adventure Knight of the old repiblic falls into the latter group.
For a good breakdown by game type and maybe some insight into the reasons ther is so much cross over, check out the breakdown at gamefaqs or mobygames.
Mobygames is especially good as after you select adventure you can see what sub catagory a game is classified as.
"I'm too young to have played the classic 80's text adventures, but even if someone told me they were as awesome as Grim Fandango, I wouldn't because they have no visuals."
I dont see the sense in this, how can you claim to want good story and refuse to even give a chance to some of the best made.
You sure that was Pizza and not Okonomiyaki? IT could be described as Pizza, but AFAIK it's it's own unique thing, but sometimes shares ingredients with Pizza.
Here is a bit of description I found on the web: "Okonomiyaki is usually made from flour, water, eggs and cabbage. The cabbage is chopped and mixed with the eggs, water and flour. To this is added pretty much anything you want. Common things to add would be thinly sliced chopped pork, thinly sliced chopped beef, chopped onions, octopus, squid, mushrooms. Note, like pizza you'd usually pick one or two things to add. You mix it together to make a batter and then you pour it on a grill and let it cook like a pancake. When one side is done you flip it over and cook the other side. When it's finished you turn off the heat or put it on a plate then you put okonomiyaki sauce on top and usually katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) and mayonnaise. The katsuobushi is so thin that it waves in the heat coming off the freshly cooked okonomiyaki and so it looks like the top of your meal is crawling."
The part about cooking it only applies to restaurants that have the grill as part of the table.

Reverve? Is that some kind of anti-drug?

Yes, but it lets me refer to the film Iron Monkey in an amusing way.
What about Pirates of Darkwater, Bucky O'hare, Defenders of Dynotron City, and more recently Eeek the cat, Earthworm Jim, and Freakazoid.
Unless the EC vote was split evenly between all candidates there would be some kind of majority. Or am I not understanding what you are trying to say?
Once winner take all is gone more votes from various states would end up showing for different groups.

Cool, is there an afganistanimation store near by?

So are the Dems Pusher Robots and the Repubs Shover Robots?
Do you have stairs in your house?

For the same reason a 20th century American woman descended from African and Egyptian blood would worship Athena. Because it's her choice.
Rival Schools for the Dreamcast is way fun as well.

To me Okonomiyaki is more of a bread base then egg, but I guess it depends on where you get it and the cook.
next to no new adventure games...
The Adventure Company seems to put them out fairly regularly.
They better not be using 127.0.0.1

Lots of us have. Some more recently then others. I first read it back in the early 90's when I found a dog eared water dammaged paperback edition.
I rank it up there with "Code of the Lifemaker" in top list.
Didn't they do the Earth Worm Jim theme song (TV series)?
I think naming versions of Windows after villians from Freakazoid is entirely acceptable.
