Are we not on our third non budgeted (as in not in the estimated official "war" budget) 80 some billion defense handout?
I understand what your saying about magnitude, but with the lowered taxes and the increase in defense spending (especially the non budgeted hundreds of billions that magically don't factor in) to me thats where most of the deficit spending is coming from.
I also agree with you about spending more on education. Here in Ohio the fuck wads in government keep cutting funding to education and giving out 10 year 0% tax incentives for businesses to fuck over the public. They say the tax incentives are necessary to keep businesses here because they cant get skilled workers, but when they are so busy cutting all education and vocational funding it's impossible to imagine the state being able to create a workforce any business wants to hire.
Even better is the constant stream of news reports a few years later about all these corporations and business welching on the deal they got.
Find out the true story and spread that word instead.
The Register has an article talking about the myth of the Osborne Effect.
Too bad Cringly could open up a couple old books and, I dunno, research his article before publishing it. While the register does not provide a link to the book quoted, it does at least tell you the name of the book, who wrote it, as well as actually ask the people if the statements they were about to publish were accurate.
How many functional PS2 V1 systems are still around?
There have been 12 Models of PS2 and Sony just cant build anything with any quality.
I remember an old Walkman I had that survived 4 years as a resturant dishwasher. Door busteed, constant earphone snagging (went through at least 4 pairs of earbuds) battery door missing, but it still played tapes and tuned the radio just fine.
Your lucky if a PS2 unit turns on.
I have gone throuhg a V2 system, a V4 system, A v5 system, and a V9 system.
I never dropped them, or moved them from the shelf (lowest on the entertainment center), and never stood them on their sides (this in some models would kill the machine fastr). I kept them clean and as free of dust as possible. Electronically most are still solid (one has some cold solder joints in the powersupply that were easily repaired but inexcusable) and functional, but the DVD drives are total complte worthless shit.
Add to this the fact that the fuckheads at Sony wont sell you parts to repair the units, they want upwards of $150 each console to fix the bad shitty hardware they put in there to start with.
I'll probably get a PS3 down the road after I see how abysmal the build quality is and used ones start to appear for under $100 so I can make sure I can get a steady supply of spare parts from people with "dead" units.
The age statistic is not for the character but for the player profile. As we all know old men are lechers and play console fighting games. Haven't you seen Roujin Z?
My favorite part of WC: Priv was when you were running from a group of hostile ships and you hit a jump point to get out of system. The game engine still runs and has the enemy ships shooting you while the stupid screen shows the animation (you cant get around) of your ship stopping and then kicking in the hyper jump, assuming you survive the monstrous damage that racks up during the LONG time it takes to display the animation as you count the sounds of weapon blasts slicing your ship to ribbons. This will happen often because there is no way to loose enemy ships if you are not faster then them.
Funny thing about that Koran desecration "mess". A week after the supposed false story was retracted, a military report came out stating that there was in face instances of Koran desecration, but no evidence of the most outrageous claim. I seem to remember the White House at the time, loudly saying there was no desecration at all ever but they quickly never mentioned it again after the report confirming otherwise came out.
Maybe I just tuned into the news at the right time to get this impression of things.
In the world of science fiction literature post apocalyptic stuff (for example "In the Drift" or "A Canticle for Lebowitz") is most definitely science fiction. Mad Max itself is more of fiction. The Road Warrior starts the science fiction part of the trilogy. Maybe it's how movies and books get categorized differently because of how they present the subject matter.
I dunno how much more you have toyed with it, but it helps to train then to aproach the enemy unobstructed first, then once they have the hang of that, go and start giving them obstacles. You still sometimes get circlers but less often and they can learn their way out of that.
If you are going to do Linux why not use a Linus designed to be afirewall from the get go? Ipcop or Smoothwall off the top of my head, I know there are others.
"Quantum physics has shown that matter is itself an illusion of light that requires the consciousness of the observer to have any meaningful existence at all."
How exactly does light fit into this. Blind people (as an example) don't have problems with falling through chairs or having cars pass through them when they wander into the street.
Shit, forget football (European) contests. American football, the teams fans sometimes destroy the commercial center of the home city in a riot, and thats when they win...
Most "kids" can work marry or drive when they are 16 in many states. Some places allow "kids" to start legally smoking cigerettes at age 17. The rest of the rights you mention kick in at 18 or 21. Seems kinda muddy. So when does a "kid" get the right to speach?
Battery stores still exist. In fact Wall Mart does not carry the batter I need for my cordless phone handset. The battery store (Batteries Plus) does. This is why Wall Mart is useless as a place to shop for anything but the most common of household items.
Don't they need to be developing a bypass or something to knock someones house down?
Would Iraq and Afganistan count as "hot spares"?
What no "Share and Enjoy!"?
DOS4GW 4 EVER!!!
/.tells me.

Actually it was IMO.

With the traditional (PSX and PS2) build quality on consoles I expect at least a third of later hardware sales to garner no aditional software sales.

With much of the deficit spending tied to tax cuts and the "war", how exactly are those "public works"?

Since MP3.com is no more any idea where the original mp3s of that band might be found?
From his post it looks like he wants to adapt this kind of AI to use in bzflag.

Nice Earthworm Jim referance, sadly no modpoints today.

My mother is quite into them, and she is in the 50s.
I've tried getting a few HK bootleg GBA cart scammers shut down, even went as far as buying one to show as proof and ebay took no action.
This is different from Ebay how?
As far as I can tell Ebay actually encourages scams and rip-offs as they get a cut no matter what.
