Good point, lets not use the forum we have here for discussing things and just everyone be quiet and if you have any questions then keep them to yourself.
They do seem to draw faster, menus that is, but it's still not instant. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining...this doesn't impair usability in any way...but why is it that owner drawn menus in moz can't be as fast as native ones in say...99% of other windows apps?
Again, this isn't a complaint....the speed difference is only noticeable if you look for it...but it is there...on my systems at least.
The point is both devices (not so much the bootloader, but still the argument could be made) have LEGITIMATE uses. Period. DTV doesn't get to say whether or not you or I should be able to legally own one.
No, unloopers exist for repairing smartcards. Check out SDLOGIC's equipment. They sell unloopers for purely legitimate purposes yet DTV is intending to sue them.
Bootloaders as well have legitimate uses....they can be used for retrieving critical data off physically damaged smartcards.
If the wording of the EFF's statement is held true, and DTV actually INVESTIGATES these purchases rather than carpet bombing the customer lists with extortion letters, then it will be what we've wanted since the beginning. This is only half.
Perhaps a handful of people in the world are justified in realizing this, but someone at the article poster's point in life clearly can't be justified in thinking this.
Evidence: he was stupid enough to post this question to/. Before I even started to read the comments I said to myself "oh this poor bastard...."
It "seems unrealistic" ? Boy...I sure am glad all the real inventors of our world didn't stop with that thought. Nearly everything new SEEMS UNREALISTIC until it has actually been done.
In South MS, diesel is nearly 30 to 40 cents a gal. cheaper than regular unleaded. This can of course change from one week to another...but it's an interesting trend I've noticed recently.
There's a theater where I live that charges $2 and $3 for tickets. They only have 4 screens but they always have current movies. Big name movies are $3 a ticket and not-so-big ones are $2.
If the world was perfect the RIAA wouldn't exist at all.

Insightful? The point is he doesn't have to anymore. Gmail is here.
That's a woman for you. Looks over practical uses any day.
Troll? Stupid mods.
He gave me one, so I can attest to the fact that he's not trolling. Maybe offtopic (only slightly) but not trolling.
Oh yea...that one was great. The best one I've seen of him because he couldn't hold it in. He's my favorite anchor on that show by far.
Is still buying from Sun.

You should've said "not to be a troll" because that's what you came off as.
Perhaps some NEWBIE users enjoy package management? Stupid newbs.

Anyone buying a smartcard programmer to hack DirecTV now is an idiot throwing their money away.
Especially if it's a quadra glitch loader with multi level cross glitch technology.....heh. Some of you know what I mean...=)
Smartcards are a good place to store your GPG keyring.

Shhh, don't talk about smartcards. DirecTV will sue you.
I just assume all stories on /. are dupes these days.
Thank you. That was very confusing. I kept re-reading it thinking I was missing something.
What's that have to do with XFree86/X.org ? XFCE is a window manager...

Why do I never receive spam in Chinese? Is all spam directly only at English speaking suckers?
Not that I know of. The hushmail software is available for download, but it doesn't look like their webmail interface is included.
Two. The test emails I sent to myself with PGP to see if signing and encrypting works.
I suspec that is the norm for PGP users....=)
