I remember when I was in school and I wanted to run some RPGs but didn't have any of the books anymore.. I couldn't stand having PDFs so I figured I would start printing out the books, 3 hole punch them and put them in 3 ring binders. So I started with the core books and moved on to the supplements. I don't know how many pages I printed. Several thousand easy. The first page it printed was a cover page. The school started catching on to how much was being printed so they limited each print job to something like 20 pages.
I know my example is about printing and not copying, but I could see where it would help to deal with similar abuses.
Didn't even bother trying, why would I? I needed to work on the computer that day. So I went out and bought a new video card from a different brand. Had it for almost a year and it works great
I thought that once based on other people saying such a thing. Then I bought a graphics card. Six months later the fan started making this loud annoying noise and the whole card went out. Must have just been the luck of the draw.
Yeah. I could do that. Not sure if this board supports booting off USB off the top of my head and I didn't have a spare memory stick at the time. Something to keep in mind for the future
I just recently set up a FreeNAS box. using an old p4 that I had laying around. Used a 100gb hard drive for the OS and installed 2tb hard drives in a RAID 1 array. I can use it to stream media or as a backup for my work. Cheap, easy and effective. I am looking at getting an Mini itx motherboard and setting up a 1u rack to save space using this idea.
I completely agree. I feel that part of the problem is with programs like no child left behind and what not that basically says that all students have the capacity to go to college. This is something that I feel is flawed near completely. Some people are just better suited to working with their hands and there is nothing wrong with that.
These jobs are called trades for a reason. I personally feel that trade work is a great way to make a living or assist others. "Tell you what, I will fix your car if you can fix my computer" type of thing is something I have seen and been a part of many a time.
These are things that need to be encouraged in our society not discouraged by saying the only way to make a good living is with a college degree.

Now what about doing things in circles? something along the line once 10 or 20 different events occur things just "happen" to go back to the way they were.
for instance.
1) save princess 2) destroy farms 3) destroy city 4) establish new presence in city 5) opposing forces then have to take the city back (maybe a few more things have to be done first)
this would then bring things back to the way the where before or close to it.
yes it would still be static, but if there are enough steps to be taken it would at least keep things changing. you would never know what state the town or whatever will be in when you get there.
I think the real question is do you really want to know? does the family really want to know? Having this question answered could cause more harm than not knowing and allowing the family to come to their own reasons as to why. if he has attacked his family at all in any letters or posts there is no way for them to be able to fix what he may have felt they did wrong. personally I would let it be.
no, that wouldn't be stupid. that would be the smartest thing for them to do. Cutting DVD players would force people to buy Blu-Ray players and thus increase their sales, and you know what? we would all buy into it too. Our society is so focused on having entertainment that we will do whatever we can to make sure we can watch our movies and tv shows at home.
so then what you are saying is that since the eye can only see around 24 frames per second then there is no need to have anything higher then that on a first person shooter.
when it comes the graphics industry we need to know that a pixel is really a certain color, not the pixels around this area make a certain color. when transferring from screen to print we have to accept that there is going to be some color changes, these color changes are easier to predict and deal with if the screen is giving us an exact color, and thus possible to even print without any color change. but if the screen is telling us that that color is black and we print and it is really a green, then that can waste several hundred dollars or more, not just in our cost of inks but in the cost of time it will take to attempt to make sure that the color really is black.
good points but my argument for not using linux is the following:
1) tired of installing something and then having to track down dependencies. 2) tired of needing internet access to make sure I can find the dependencies. 3) tired of getting a new piece of hardware and having to hope that I can find linux drivers for the hardware 4) tired of not being able to use my hardware because the drivers that are available are not "full featured" for said device 5) tired of not being sure packages are needed on a new install and installing all 5 CDs (or more) of files just to make sure that I should have everything I might need
I just really feel that right now the community is hashed together and sloppy. I really like the concept of linux but the apps that I need do not come available for linux and the so called linux alternatives don't perform up to the standards that I expect. I hope one day I will be able to switch to a free alternative to windows but until linux and the community start running smoothly and more manufactures start _shipping_ linux drivers with their hardware I am going to stick with windows
1) The Cure - Plays - "Lets Go To Bed" 2) Tool - Plays "Prison Sex" 3) The Doors - Plays "Light My Fire" 4) Britney Spears - Plays "Hit Me Baby One More Time"
As a graphic artist who has done ad work I must agree and disagree. yes it helps to pull customers one way or another, but at the same point in time it helps to promote a product that someone may have never heard of. so then it generates new business that a company may have never had otherwise.
now, I will say this as well, I do think that advertising has gotten out of hand. everything is an ad for something these days and I am tired of it. that is why I will only do an ad design, flier or whatever for local bands and businesses that I believe in myself.
Most of the hipsters I am aware of send off their film to be developed.
I do not fall into that crowed... I have 20+ years in the darkroom and am keeping this part of our scientific/artistic alive.
Most of the hipsters I know have no interest in learning how to process their own film and make their own prints.
I think most of them buy their lomo cameras as a fashion accessory as I never see them actually take pictures with the camera.

I agree.. Been running mythtv for a while now and I love it.
There are several mythtv specific distros. I am running mythdora myself. I really like the fact it uses LVM.
Also the it's got some great plugins for weather and game emulation.
Canon Pro 9500 Mark II is a great machine.
If you are looking for something larger than this, I don't know but I would still go Canon on for it.

And there are even some states that do not allow for the anyone other than the 2 parties to be in the primaries.
So if they get away with it all it will go down as GODLIKE?

in soviet russia the games torture you
nearby oroville? are you in chico?
yeah.. I think I remember hearing about that one.. at least they didn't have to take him that far to lock him up... hehe
and all this time I thought that sent smoke signals bombing the hell out of each other to communicate

I don't know man... most people I know would look at the oscilloscope and ask where the LSD was.

you know that makes me wonder how many BSODs there were. I know I can't keep windows running for 6 days without a BSOD every now and then.
how about this:
Set up some Tesla coils around the house.
Have a system based on RFID tags or something similar to disable the coils if the person who possesses the tag comes within range.
tesla coils and an rfid system to deactive them for friendly people
so then what you are saying is that since the eye can only see around 24 frames per second then there is no need to have anything higher then that on a first person shooter.

those 16 million colors better be there.
