Geeks created the internet and Geeks should control it. Computer Geeks tend not to be to concerned with politics they have a higher standard "Network Integratiy"
The media companies that have beeen waiting for broadband to become popular so they can sell streaming entertainment might have a problem. How will people feel about paying to watch a movie online plus have to pay thier cable provider extra for each movie they watch?
When I owned my computer store I used to get tons of computers that people would just give me that I wouldn't buy from them I had the whole basement fl of antique computers. You could put a free ad in your local paper and people would probably give you more computers then you could handle.
Since M$ has a history of just dropping things that don't work out right. Is the Xbox worth it to them to stick it out for the long haul? We all know that given enough time M$ can make any product acceptible to consumers.
I got a few letters from M$ accusing me of selling computers without the proper licenses. They looked like form letters so I just threw them out. I never heard from them again. I Think everyone should handle M$ and the B$A the same way.

Microsoft does not prohibit people from reselling a retail copy of the OS. What it does prohibit people from reselling are the OEM versions of the OS. The OEM versions are sold for a fraction of the cost of the retail version and have a license which prohibits them being used on any computer but the one it was sold on.
Sorry but I have to disagree with your statement. M$ will stop you from selling a retail vesion of thier software on ebay quicker then you can imagine. I have had ebay auctions stopped by them myself especialy if the box has been opened.
Say one of these things are launched from a ship, and shortly afterwards its taken over by the enemy, and wham, the ship has a big gaping hole in it.
