This is another good example of why software patents should only be good for 1 year. Software companies and patent trolls are playing the patent system. It's time for reform!!!
If the repubs continue to defund government and even worse fail to raise the debt limit, how long until President Obama decides to institute Presidential directive 51? It was dreamed up by Bush, but, is custom made for this scenario!
Nuclear plants only have to bide their time. Sooner or later their electricity will be needed to run the desalinization plants needed to provide fresh water for those whose wells are polluted by the stupid fracking chemicals!!!
The cleric missed the real problem. Men who drive cars compress the testicles causing sterility and reduced testosterone production, which in turn, causes homosexuality. That's the reason so many arabs like young boys. Not to mention goats and camels!!
I hope you're over 50 and have no children. If not you will see for yourself the early stages of the horrible effects of global warming (i.e. climate change). Luckily, I'm old enough that I won't live to see the worst of the famines and climate disasters to come. It's really your children who will see all the horrible reality to come. Sure, you can deny, deny, deny all you want, but, it's coming.
Wow! What a bunch of twitchy dim-eyed twits!! Here's what you need to do; push yourself away from your computer, stand up and walk outside. Yes, outside, it's that big open place out your front door. Then, look up in the sky. There's a big shiny object there (be careful not to look directly at it since it can injure your dim eyes). It's called the sun. Then, open your mouth and take in a big breath of air. If you're lucky enough not to live in the middle of a large city, that's fresh air. Good stuff, isn't it? You may even take some time to walk around and look at those big green things (trees), and those white fluffy things in the sky (clouds). This is the outdoors! It's a great place to walk, breathe, and think. If you think enough, you may just come to the conclusion that a change in your life (err...operating system), isn't really that big a deal. I know, I know, who are you to tell me (the great and mighty Linux user) what is good or bad for me? I'm just another human who has endured change for many, many years, and, find that it is the normal course of the world. In a few years or possibly a decade, Linux and all the current operating systems may be gone. If you learn to embrace change now it will be much easier for you in the future. And, I guarantee that change will come much faster in your future than it did in mine! So, what to do? I knew people who resisted giving up Windows 95 for years, right up until XP, and, even then they changed only grudgingly. And here you are whining about a middle button click that you were "used" to. Hey folks.....get a life!!! Embrace change. It's the way of the world!
All kidding aside, the solution is actually easy. Have the troops train with multiple robots in rotation to avoid any sentimental attachment. Also, on each mission, send a different robot (identified by their ID numbers) so that the G.I. has absolutely no attachment to the specific robot. In the end, however, I find it hard to believe that a G.I., Marine, etc. would form such a close attachment to a robot that they would have a hard time sending it into harms way.
You must be childless, sorry! For the last 2 or 3 decades all I've heard is about cuts to education funding. It all boils down to; YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!
Exactly! Just look at the Syria problem. Why are so many politicians against punitive strikes against Assad? It's easy, Syria has no oil!!! Who cares about 1300 or 1400 people including some 400 plus children being gassed to death by Assad? There's just no oil there!
Here in the U.S. we are eating cloned beef (very tasty cloned beef I might add!), and the wack jobs are criticizing a product like golden rice and it's potential benefits. Get a life people! Nobody is going to force golden rice down your throats, but for those who need it, it could be a Godsend!!!
The monopolist vulture capitalists love you man! Pull your head out of the dirt and look around. Big business is out to get you and they just love the idea of little or no government oversight or regulation!
Gosh, they're throwing a big party at Apple for the release of a new phone which still will not bring them up to the technological level of the Samsung Galaxy IV. How cute!!!
It seems that the education system in Australia could be even more underfunded and worse than that in the U.S., where for decades the Republicans have been cutting education funding to try to create the perfect noble and serf two class system!!!
Yeah, let's see, science shows that an aircraft wing which is flat or concave on the bottom and curved in a convex way in top, when pushed thru the air at a certain speed will provide the lift needed to get that 747 off the ground. Do you fly, or is your mistrust of science keeping you from joining the 20th and 21st centuries? And, by the way, that computer, tablet, or phone which you posted this drivel to Slashdot must not have been made possible by "science", but by MAGIC!!!!
Yes, it all boils down to money. Cold hard cash!!! These reporters want to be shielded by an expanded 5th amendment so that they can't be prosecuted for not testifying against the criminal defendant. If they are forced to testify, then, these defendants will be less, if not completely, dissuaded from spilling the beans to a reporter. Oh my!, the reporter doesn't get the big scoop. He doesn't get the big promotion. He doesn't get the big bucks! As far as I'm concerned, a reporter, or anyone who refuses to testify for any reason such as; being a relative, being in love with the defendant, or even a reporter looking for that big break, becomes an accessory after the fact in the crime and should be prosecuted as such. Today, we see all these government leaks being printed in the next day's newspaper or broadcast on the news with no thought of how it harms our nation. I believe that reporters who receive secret, restricted information should be prosecuted for espionage, which is exactly what they're engaged in. When we were in the work up to the Iraq war, someone very, very high up in the government leaked to the press that Valerie Palme (spelling?) was a CIA agent. We were technically at war, so, that person was the worst kind of traitor! Eventually a government "flunkey" was found to take the heat and spent a short time in jail. He was eventually pardoned by the person, or his immediate supervisor, who was the actual traitor. Back in the 40s and WWII, this person would have been shot by a firing squad. Today, no one even seems to care. People need, once again, to be held accountable for their actions!!!
I know you were trying to be funny (ha ha), but, now all the climate change deniers will latch onto this as "proof" that man has no part to play in climate change. Remember, there are two types of climate change deniers; A: those who have a profit motive, i.e. oil companies, coal producers, etc., etc. and B: those who are not well educated enough to understand the science behind it and buy into the propaganda of group "A". Why do you think the Republicans are cutting funding for education across the land as fast as they can?
First, those with babies, bad immune systems, etc. who catch a disease from these people who don't vaccinate their children etc., should be able to hold them liable for damages. Such as hospital costs, doctors costs, or even death. It will be hard to prove, though, who actually communicated the disease to said people. Secondly, health insurance companies should not have to cover hospitalizations etc. of kids and adults who decided immunization was "too scary" or against their religion. Modern medicine has eliminated many diseases which have historically ended many lives. To turn your back on immunizations is not just wrong, it is moronic behavior!
Remember, he was not found guilty of treason, which in war time carries the death penalty. As far as I'm concerned, he got off easy. Also, what about the lives of those exposed as U.S. sources, etc. in these documents? How many of them have already met an untimely end? Remember, Manning was not tried for accessory to murder either.

If your poop is black and tarry, you need to see your physician. This indicates internal bleeding, which, if not stopped will eventually kill you!

Could Apple's iOS 7 be their version of "Vista"? I'll be watching closely!!
Hey folks, it's just South Carolina. Home of Gamecocks and racists. What's the loss?

"at least some of these problems are solvable by QC in P time" I solved my BPH at P time!!! You live, you learn!

I hope their accountant has very deep pockets. I would think he would be liable for such a stupid mistake/sabotage!
