People are climbing everything that seems posible or imposible, so if a space elevator is ever build, people will try to climb it.. good idea or not..
Climbing a building without permission, the police will be waiting on the roof, at least that woun't be a problem here.. Climbing high enough to make a base jump and strike two birds with one stone!
As a Dane I understood quite a lot of what the Vikings in "The 13th Warrior" were saying as it was a mix of the different Scandinavian languates.
I'll give that the movie was confusing, but that's the point. It's told as The 13th Warrior would tell about his trip to the North and he doesn't understand what is going on, most of the time. A lot of what we see is based on stories that he is told on the way and has retold later; truth is bended quite a bit.
Not the best movie ever made but.. different from what we have come to expect in the way a story is told in a movie.
Is there any PDA, labtop or the like without any form of screen, only with a set of goggles or a head-up display?
I want the big screen, but I don't want to carry it around.. I would say that a set of high definition LCD goggles would do the trick.. and be less power consuming as they wouldn't have to be very big?
Actually, I've heard that the RIAA (Ray Industry Asociation of America) are cracking down on unlicenced solarium home users trying to get the right tan in the comfort of their own home!
In other news: Sales of the popular iPhoton, portable "flash light", keeps rising though nobody has any use for 10.000 years of Rays in their pocket!

Officer: license and registration please.. waitaminute, is that copies of CD's? Car-thief: uhm, eh.. Officer: Where are the originals? Car-thief: Well you see.. Officer: Get out of the car, NOW! Car-thief: but, but ...

Morale: Always keep copies (multiple) of all your CD's in your car!
I've had my private domain for almost 7 years now and I have never recieved any spam on the webmaster@ account. Truth be told, the webmaster@ address is not written anywhere on my site (the "If you can't figure out it's an active account, I don't want your mail anyway" philosophy applies here).
Actually, the trash@ account I use every time I have to write an address somewhere gets virtually ZERO spam (i.e. 1-2 msgs a year)! I don't understand this part at all!
.. Picard will die while holding Data's crushed head in his hands an unknown ensign will rise and save the day, kicking Worf's smoking body out of the way.
Ten episodes later (where at least 8 other oldtimers will retire, die or go away in exciting ways), the ensign will be on an away mission with 2-3 other heroes and a few new guys. Only the new guys will return and the remaining staff will have to find a way out of another bad situation.
Once again it is established that Space is dangerous.
JMS will get fired. In the next episode "Q" (the official ST 'save game' entity) will return from a Time trip, bringing all the oldtimers back.. to boldly go and seek out the same old places once again.
Well, technically UK (minus Ireland) is not in the monetary union of EU, therefore there is a difference in the monetary unit you would have to pay (pound or euro) BUT.. I can't see why people in other parts of the EU can't buy freely from the English, German or French sites. EU is a free trade zone!
I wonder if it's an IP, creditcard or address thing?
we can't even specify things well enough to get development done on time inhouse, and the there is "threats" of outsourcing ..
iTunes does this to me when I am behind the company's firewall ..
that is:

Which is a bit less polite than the word "bitch" in english..
..so, it would actually make sense for GWB to stage a "terrorist attack" before the comming elections ... that's scary!
ah, well .. it was sort of fun while it lasted

I can run my iPod as an external harddisk on a pocket PC giving the iPod all the capabilities of the PC .. (wow, really!?!)
.. It's not like the iPod suddenly gets WiFi, now is it?
...
Some would say that you have just added extra space to your pocket gizmo and that's that
There is no news here, move along
nobody knows what they run, so nobody can make a decent attack ..

The unknown extra always dies on ST away missions.
.. hello Ensign Extra! Muarhhaa haaa haaaa
With JMS in the picture, the characters that have been build up for a while are more likely to get axed!
Bye, bye Worf, Picard and Data
