  1. Perhaps they're ignorant, perhaps they're not, but the prospect of my peers and my government deciding whether or not I'm smart enough to enter into an economic arrangement of my own free choice is downright scary.

  2. Yeah, let's have the government protect us from the the free-market and pre-decide that people aren't smart enough to evaluate opportunities presented by evil businesses.

    It's entrepreneurship because you get to decide when, where, and how much you work.

    Which is what these government employees (judges) are. No concept of entrepreneurship, self-sufficiency, or free-will.

    The USA allows natural monopolies as a practicable matter, where alternatives wouldn't make sense due to the capital/resource requirements. But why are we allowing duopolies to become monopolies?

    I would venture to guess that the majority of Mac owners do not fall under the category of power users, where they would be inclined to experiment with a much less user/noob friendly platform as Linux is vs OS X. If anything they would consider Windows 10, which based on the posts at MacRumors seems to be what's happening, esp after Microsoft's recent Surface product announcements.

    They likely have home insurance and will be reimbursed. If anyone has a right to sue Amazon it will be the insurance company, to reclaim the money they paid out to the homeowners.

    You mean heavy browsing loads where the X220 will run 4x faster than a netbook? For everything else the X220 will be dead silent.

    The X220 uses 6-8 watts under browsing loads. And they're built like tanks so warranty isn't an issue. I've dropped my X201 five times once from chest height.

    I'm not familiar with the HP Stream 11 but a quick web search reveals the i5-2520M in the X220 is 4x faster than the N3050 in the HP Stream 11.

    I do this on my desktop but to achieve usable VM performance on a notebook he'll likely have to spend a bit more than $200 - faster CPU and more memory.

    It converts between Lightning and USB-C but accomplishes it by converting the Lightning port to an internal Firewire port, which then converts to an internal USB port, which converts to an HDMI port, and finally goes out as USB-C.

    Six years into his CEO tenure and all we keep getting is promises about the great products Apple has in the pipeline. That pipeline must be long enough to stretch to the moon because we haven't seen anything great since he's been in charge.

    He's been saying for years that our phones are being used as spying devices. Most wrote it off as an extreme view, even those who are sympathetic to Stallman's causes. Turns out he's been right all along.

    The federal bribery laws apply at all levels, including international. If you can produce evidence that AT&T bribed state and local municipalities then I'm sure the feds would be all ears.
