Reminds me of the George Carlin bit of everyone being outraged when an American contractor gets killed.
"Besides, who cares about some mercenary civilian contractor from Oklahoma who gets his head cut off? Fuck 'em. Hey Jack, you don't want to get your head cut off? Stay the fuck in Oklahoma. They ain't cuttin' off heads in Oklahoma, far as I know."
I'm sorry, what state do you live in that charges you $35 a year for a license? I've had one in VA and MD, they are good for many years, and it is a one-time fee. Cost-average it out to like $6-$7 a year tops.
NY. Either 35 or 40 for a replacement but that's not yearly and you need one when it expires after 3? years. So more like 35 every 3 years.
"Recently, a Model S was in a very high speed accident in Germany that caused it to fly 82 feet through the air, an event that would likely be fatal in vehicles not designed to the level of safety of a Tesla."
Where's the dashcam footage for that lol. Holy moly
I manage over 200 computers both from Lenovo and Dell and have experienced this 0 times. What does it do when it fails? Is there data on the stick but not booting? Does the media creation tool give an error of some kind?
My company insists on using it. We're small, though, so maybe one day I'll convince them that having it and not having it is basically the same thing except with one you spend a lot of money for no reason.
Candy Crush and Twitter already re-install themselves every time I update the OS. It's a trivial powershell script to remove them again but how many more will re-install themselves every time I update after this garbage is added. Installing apps I haven't requested ONE TIME is already too many fuck this nonsense no one is ever going to use your proprietary app store, Microsoft, give it up please.
Indy didn't really 'tear apart' the game and at one point said "It's just a game so it's nice they're at least trying to bring to light the brutal nature of hand to hand combat" or something to that effect.
Everyone should watch The Great War series though it's awesome what they're doing. They're following the war week by week as we go through the 100th anniversary of it. It's really worth subscribing to.
Is there any precedent for legal action against someone for doing this? Or can I just make a kickstarter, never fulfill it at all, buy a new car and there's no consequences?
on a high end gaming pc there is a performance increase but i manage ~50 laptops for my organization that were designed with 8.1 in mind and Win10 is like a sidegrade. I don't see a performance increase or decrease it's pretty much the same. If the unit was designed for 8.1 it is very usable but performance boost? If you don't have an enormous GPU and Skylake you're not going to see that optimization.
The "Internet of Things" is a buzzword used by middle management to make it sound like they're doing something and innovating. Very few people will ever use any simple appliance on the internet outside of HVAC. Home automation has been around a long time with very little adoption adding a swanky term/acronym to it doesn't change adoption rates. Also remember when the PC was dead in 2008? Oh, right.
There are tons of people in positions where they're asked to come up with a new way for the company to make money and/or seem like they're "cutting edge." The "Internet of Home Appliances that Don't Require the Internet" is just another one in the cycle.
It'll be 4k upscaler and maybe they can do 4k blu ray playback. This will NOT be a proper 4k gaming experience most modern PC gaming rigs struggle with 4k at a decent framerate.
he couldn't be more of an insider: a billionaire whose initial investment came from a large inheritance, businesses that remained afloat and out of trouble through political connections he IS the establishment just with a goofy face and sarcastic remarks. he's going to end up as president bc of un-thought-out stupid bullshit like this and I don't believe it's going to be a good thing for anyone.
Obviously everyone's work conditions are different but in my situation I have my desk that I sit at then my workbench where I stand and work. If I need to do detailed work at the bench I have a stool so I'm not slouched over for hours working on something difficult but moving about is the key to feeling good.
I realize some jobs you're stuck in front of that screen for the whole day so I don't know how to help that but placing your tasks in different locations so you move around is the key to not feeling achy and awful at the end of the week. ONLY standing or ONLY sitting seems to probably both be not all that great.

A Good Source of Group Names I'm partial to a "Clattering" myself.

But when you click the red X will that mean "YES PROCEED" or "YES, ABSOLUTELY PROCEED"

thank you for the info wow that sucks :( my systems are all 8.1 pro units with the keys stored in hardware so maybe that changes things.

and with this small modification you can turn 1 gun into 5 guns
hey that's neat. IT'S THE FUTURE (not really but someone from 1960 would shit their pants seeing that)

Didn't se say, quote, "I would eat my shoe on the Neil Cavuto show if we could not break the encryption on the San Bernardino phone."
Shit, at least he could do that and we could get some entertainment out of him.

I didn't invent written correspondence where's my article. I'll deny it all day.

In other news: The sun rose today!
You spent $90 then you owned it forever. $30 and you can watch it a couple times then it disappears. Big difference there IMO

It's not so much that support needs to be implemented to work but rather when bugs and problems arise they'll actually fix them.
you MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER typing like a normal person so people don't think YOU'RE A FUCKING MANIAC but screaming EVERY OTHER PHRASE
