  1. Starship fate on Black Hole's "Point of No Return" Found · · Score: 2

Imagine you are on a starship and have to pass near a black hole. You read up the facts from the books and set your course. 5.5 times the size of the black hole's event horizon seems rather risky. I would take 3 times the suggested distance to pass safely.

It was actually very destructive for the market, becasue unprocessed orders are seen as an indication in public financial markets. Stocks and Forex are affected by it. So, such gaming of the system would mislead the speculators or actually start a trend that has nothing to do with reality or demand. Such a game of false demand creation would be only fair when many people would do it and then somehow balance each-other out. Whoever did this, will face legal action, as long as his bank account is less than 300 billion.

You are correct, but German cars are much more efficient than the US cars. Their regular US cars are probably very hungry and very big. The US people also travel longer distances, becasue they love to live far away from towns. Our cars are the cheapest and the most efficient in the world, becasue we were asked to pay higher prices long time ago. Also, you can buy a decent car that is 7 years old in Germany for under 5k and still use it for another 7 years. The US people probably have no access to that.

  9. I smell money on Virgin Galactic's Quiet News: Virgin Now Owns The SpaceShip Company · · Score: 1

Something tells me that Virgin Galactic is going to make decent money from luxury trips to space. Brandson did it in other forms of transportation before and he will do it in space. He was named after the brand and has connections to the people who will pay. The company seems on the right track to make space travel reality. I hope they will make it fast, while space is still popular with rich people.

Just compared the map quality for remote villages in the biggest country of the world. Google's images for the satellite view are better. The classic map is OK. The names and even the train stops are shown, unlike in Google. The German map. Is also comparable to the one from Google. I would say that the 3D failed for me, becasue it kept saying that I need the correct browser, which I was already using. Conclusion, better than the maps from Yahoo, but not as good as the maps from Goggle. Page Layout and speed is excellent in Europe. Go try: http://maps.nokia.com/

I would argue that anything is better than FAT for the NAND storage. Under FAT for example: Taking a picture with the FAT-formated camera can corrupt non-related files for some reason, if the camera is low on power. Entire music collections can get lost, when the battery in the FAT-formated phone went out during the write process. Anything better than FAT.

Exactly. At low speeds and on low bikes, you are almost no different from a pedestrian who might fall or slip. I feel very comfortable to go slower on a bike, becasue I never travel long distances with it. So, why should we be forced to wear a helmet, when the preferred cycling style of most people is already safe enough. I would suggest that the helmet would be mandatory for certain speeds instead.
