"Camcorders account for 92 percent of all illegal copies of films that appear for sale over the Internet and are sold on street corners from Burbank to Beijing, according to the MPAA."
Oh please. I've bought and downloaded many 'illegal copies' in my time, and that percentage is ridiculously high. You'd have to be nuts to buy a camcorder movie, when the 'direct copy of the dvd sent out as promo' version is available.
They surely realise that any 'for sale' pirate version of the film came from an inside source, and this quote in the article is pure FUD.
/bok'sn/ pl.n. [very common; by analogy with VAXen] Fanciful plural of box often encountered in the phrase `Unix boxen', used to describe commodity Unix hardware. The connotation is that any two Unix boxen are interchangeable.
Two criticisms.... (both of which I read in reviews elsewhere, and agree with)
1. The whole premise of why the grandfather left the clues for sophie, and tried to pass on the location of the grail is that only 3 (4?) people knew of its location, and the others had been killed, leaving just him. OH QUICK! I have to pass on this information, or it will die here... and then at the end, meeting her grandmother, she says "oh, its ok, the society will rebuild, there are always people ready to move up, and we know the location"... Hmm. No inconsistency there.
2) The awful bit at the end, where they turn to each other, and go "OMG! I LUV U!" out of no-where. can someone say 'tacked on romantic ending'
Burns: Yes, I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in
Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?
Kid: Uh, I better look in the manual. Burns: [groans] Oh, the ignorance.
[sees Homer and Grandma walking out]
Wait a minute, I know that woman. But from when? And in what
capacity?
[spies "Wanted" posted with Grandma's young picture on it]
[gasps] It's her. At last!
Kid: This book must be out of date: I don't see "Prussia", "Siam", or
"autogyro". Burns: Well, keep looking!
[he turns back, and she's gone]
Why (or how, for that matter) would I install a program that I can't find the source for. Bison is gnu's yacc. Why would I use a program that hasn't been updated in the last 5 years, as compared to one under active development.
well, i gave compiling with bison a go anyway... last time i tried this was beta2, and it failed dismally... this time, it seems to have succeeded. So now they're only guilty of misleading/wrong/old documentation. A slightly lesser crime, but still.
from src/moc/README
----
Notice that moc does not compile with GNU bison, use standard AT&T yacc or Berkeley yacc instead.

why do these people refuse to use commonly available tools. I've spent a lot of time searching for these, neither of which are under developemnt or even easily availble. Bison is under development. Why don't they use it, or at least let us use it ??? Because of this, I can't compile qt-3.0.0, and I think this is unacceptable.
fwiw, it came in at approx 8 seconds on a dual opteron 246 system here
here you go!

i've used mplayer, and xine based solutions such as totem to listen to online radio streaming in windows media formats
the link is already at +5, way further up than here. I'm sure you mentioning it in a 0 rated thread will do a lot of good.

Aside from that, I loved it
When compiling your kernel, drop the make dep and make clean and just #make bzImage modules modules_install.
No need for 'make bzImage modules'
simple 'make' will do the two automatically in a single run
much better
what are you, nuts ???
Rik Mayall was never the voice of stewie.
Stewie is voiced by the creator of the show, Seth MacFarlane. He even won an emmy in 2000 for the voice of stewie.
What drugs are you on ?
but that IS the irony of the song
that none of the examples of irony _are_ irony
why should you have a problem with it?
the title of the song is technically correct
except, iirc, she publicly stated that the irony of the song is that none of the examples of irony are actually irony
:P
now, that _is_ ironic
better luck next time
Not "grammer", but "grammar". "The study of how words and their component parts combine to form sentences." grammar
The exact Press Release from Microsoft was:
"We was out of town when that shit went down."
how is this funny?
damn moderators on crack
and then smack them for not removing references to it from the manpage :P
Um, no. This will work with any shell worth using
:P
Um, no
This is done by bash. It is mentioned in the man page. Read the rest of the thread. It doesn't work in csh/tcsh/ash/zsh.
ps. its kernel
pps. its vice versa
Honestly people, accuracy counts:
