  1. Sorry, but it's a democracy on Bad News From Canada On NetTV And Media Levies · · Score: 2, Insightful

The caucus can revolt by taking a vote of non-confidence, starting off an election. Chretien is just a smart politician, that's all. Now if our opposition weren't so freaking dumb our government might be held more accountable.

    BTW, it's "lose" not "loose"

What the hell is wrong with the people of Slashdot. The least they could do is insert a (sic) next to a missplet word to show they didn't edit it. That's what editors do, right?

The origin of the word "robot" is commonly assumed to be from the title of a play from the early 20th century called "Rossum's Universal Robots". It is true that the word robot is derived from slave or labourer.

  18. It makes the job of reading easier. on The Tick Premieres Tonight on FOX · · Score: -1, Redundant

The idea of using proper spelling and grammar is to make the job of reading a post easier. If someone would spare a few seconds to spell-check their post, it would save thousands of people reading the message a moment's pause. It's only being considerate.

So you see, if the spelling and grammar are correct, it collectively saves a great deal of time for the readers.

In conclusion, bad spelling and grammar display nothing but contempt for the reader and their time.
BTW, I think spelling and grammar are important, but I wouldn't kill 6 million Jews over it.
