Because as a game developer I see two main motivations that are essentially the same as every other artist: 1) making enough money to live 2) bring your stuff to as many people as possible
so if I have the choice of selling 10Mio copies at 5€ or 1Mio copies at 50€ for me the first option would clearly win.
What do I care about the blinkenlights on the machine? Give me one button that gets me an espresso - freshly ground of course - and I am happy. I don't understand the appeal of all that capsule crap.
After all its pretty well-known that from some trees you can get pretty good drinking water (as in: clean) so one would just naturally assume that somewhere between the roots and the trunk where you normally tap in, the thing would get filtered... and alas there is not much in between except wood.
"its five times stronger, so its five times as dangerous"... rather than: "awesome, we can give out one fifth the dosage to get the same effect" (which is normally pretty epic for side effects).
afaik this is getting fixed as we speak. eg. for carbon nanotubes there is some minimum length to make using them feasible (because you have to knot a whole lot of them together), and these lengths were first reached around a year ago or so iirc (according to the the awesome german space-blog "raumzeit")
Actually, its very easy to make (though depending on your definition of "flying pigs" and if the pig has to be alive in the end; i.e. can we use a cannon or a plain or does the pig have to do its own thing) and might have some good uses.
because papers have shown that most programming problems occur in the same part of the program (either because of requirements understanding or common misconceptions).
I don't know how this works elsewhere, but at least here the driving instructors have their own cars which they essentially lend to you during the lessions for a fee (afaik even required by law because they have pedals on the passenger side).
sorry, but as a musician (guitar, bass, cello, sax,...) I consider this extremely lame. Esp. that 1) Iphone and not android 2) teaching mode does not teach you how to play so it sounds good (eg. how tones have to ring etc)
I would not call it "legacy". You coworker is just a hipster.
rather, how illegal ... I am pretty sure at least in my home country it is, and not just a little bit

FB chat is just XMPP and easy to setup in pretty much any messenger anyway.

there are waaay too little bugs.
is making a camp fire in the driver seat also considered as "fire started in the car"? :D
might as well go for some urban camping.

at least the one at my fitness center run some linux, and they do tv, radio, internet, have an ipod dock and stuff like that
tons of stuff that is called corruption over here is seen as harmless lobbying and such on the other side of the pond.
I remember hearing this same story (regarding flattening of the body) already in the 90s.

i learned latin in school ... taught me a lot about my native language (eg. using correct grammar)
