I don't have that much of a problem with the statute. It's the side effects of the ruling that bother me. If video games don't warrant first amendment protection then the government can stop anyone buying them. So you won't be playing your violent video games and I won't be playing mine because some fuckwit judge says it's OK to censor them.
Since we know Google spiders/., it would be helpful if you'd make Scientologists a link to xenu.net instead of some random phrase. After all, we all know where to go to get information on Scientology, but your casual Google queryist might not. Right?
He was obviously out this weekend, enjoying the pleasant weather wherever it is he lives. He comes in on Monday morning, just like you or I would, to find the submissions bin overflowing with (mostly) crap. Do you think he has time to look over all the stuff Taco et al posted over the weekend before he makes his selections?
The PVR doesn't differentiate based on the content. The user decides that he does not want to watch the next 30 seconds of recorded TV. Maybe I've seen the show before and would rather not hear the bad joke that's coming up.
What problem? What analysis? There was an accusation of hatred and ignorance. I merely pointed out all the pretty stained glass in the house of the person throwing the rock.
I don't think he claims that these are not scientific theories. He's looking for an experiment that would disprove evolution (since falsifiability is the hallmark of a scientific theory).
It should be possible to breed two populations of some species in different, isolated environments. There should be some adaptive pressure we can apply that will force the two populations to diverge into different species.
Right, but it's closest to the Sun (damn - is that perihelion or the other one? Fine figure I cut posting to a thread on the woeful state of science education!) in the northern winter. And the effect of the slight change in distance is more than offset by the effect of Earth's axial tilt.
Twenty nine minutes, according to the timestamps. That's quite a lot of reflection for around here. Add in the twenty five years or so in which I have observed organised religion, inside and out, and you get quite a well-considered opinion.
What you got here is one of them reductio ad absurdum thingamajigs.
Your assumptions seem reasonable. I'm a reasonable man, and I don't know nothing about no CowboyNeal and his cheese fetish. But when you get to an absurd result like.04% of the web are belong to CowboyNeal, then clearly your assumptions are flawed.
Ergo, CowboyNeal has a "special connection" to cheese. Quod Erat Doodah.
In Jesse's defense (and I don't often say that), education got a huge increase in his first two-year budget, and slightly better than inflation on the second. The shift of funding from local levies to the state for K-12 made things confusing, particularly when lots of districts voted down the make-up levies.
Next time you buy something, short the stock of the company that makes it.

It's not that straightforward. As the UK's "e-Government portal" shows, Microsoft technology is really only useful for making sure that you don't use non-Microsoft technology. Because Microsoft makes the best browsers, so really it's in your own best interest that the government makes sure you're not using an inferior browser before they let you use the e-services.
Where do I register my DNS server? It's at 192.168.192.8

Too true. I keep forgetting that it's all about what you can get, not whether you're entitled to it.

Except if Nike doesn't respect the First Amendment then they can't use it as a defense, can they?
Divorce your wife and marry someone more sensible.
Disclaimer: I have a beard, but it's kept well trimmed at my wife's insistence.

"Bereft of life, he rests in peace"
Pretty deadly Polly.
No, it's more like printing your own fliers that tell people to look at page 37 of the DMN.

It's your choice to remain a part of the Catholic church.
The inquisition still exists. I forget its new name, though.
Gosh, we're being accused of ignorance and hatred by someone who appreciates (and may even be a member of) the Catholic Church.
I think we should appoint some inquisitors to research this.

How much of SciFi's increased audience is due to shows like John Edwards? It's "Fi", but it's definitely not "Sci".
If you only put the barest minimum into your job you won't be staying in the top tax bracket for any great length of time.

You, sir, are married to my wife, the biandrous bitch.
There are plans for nuclear weapons on the internet. Why didn't Al-Qaeda just build one of those and let it off in New York?
Could it be because there is a difference between knowing how to do something and being able to do it?
I definitely think we'd be better off without Porky's II.
