It is my experience that crime reports are PR by the police/crime industry in large measure, and the result is a culture of fear.
Why is it that parents are more fearful of child molestation than traffic accidents?
Ubuntu shipd w gnome-cups-manager which is really easy to use. The only problemn it is a little buggy still. I had trouble with it since my network printer name has a "/" in it.
I use old (or not so old) computers (running linux) to deliver sound from my library of music (flac, ogg and mp3s) over nfs. I never have any problems with linux or the network. Anything better than a PII should work.
Computer sound card sound quality sucks, in general - budget for some decent sound cards (maudio is a good one) or get a USB sound external card (I have a Xitel that works pretty good but has no volume control)
I just tried it, seems to work OK. Ubuntu, on a 2.4 gHz p4 shuttle.
I didn't time my boot times to compare, but it seems to speed it up quite a bit. Reiserfs takes a long time to get ready on my system tho. Next time I reformat, perhaps I'll go back to ext3
A little gamma correction system is here, this is not for full color calibration. for that you need special equipment but its alot better than nothing, and can work for personal use.
The plant at ashbridges bay already uses anaerobic processes (on the sludge) to produce methane that is used in heating the plant.
The article was a little simplistic. The reason that sewage treatment plants use aerobic processes for water treatment is that they are efficient ( 1 day residence time comapared to 30 day residence time) Anaerobic digestion can be used when you have seperated the solids from the liquids since they are a very small fraction of the total, and this is what is quite often done. The gas can be used but must be cleaned up if you want to use it for power generation.
We should all go out and disinfect everything in sight.

I would think IBM hasn't been enlightened any more than we have. AND if there was some code that they released into the kernel contrary to some part of their contractual obligation, if they knew and released details they would be making it worse in the courts eyes.
What I don't understand is how SCO can think it has some rights that extend through to people that they have no contract with.
I have built a few "Healthy Houses" for clients that were both environmentally sensitive and for non sensitive people.
The simple fact of the matter is that buildings are made of stuff, and some of this stuff gets on our skin and into our lungs. If the stuff is bad for you, why use it. This problem is worse in energy efficient houses.
Just the same as we know now that smoking is bad for you so:
It makes sense to avoid building materials that produce toxic dust (silicone, asbestos, fiberglass)
It makes sense to avoid materials that offgas formadehyde gas or other noxious organic compounds. Materials such as particle board, cheap carpet, urea formaldehyde foam insulation offgas significant amounts of formaldehyde, formaldehyde is good for some things, but not increasing your lifespan.
It makes sense to minimize the potential growth of toxic or allergic natural pests such as mold, dust mites, spiders, ants and wasps.

I run 40-50 kilometers a week. If you can start, the running high will have you looking forward to your runs. 4 times a week is great.

Works for me out of the box. Intel iw2200 on a Dell laptop.
Maybe you just have unsupported hardware
I fixed it by going to /usr/lib and doing "sudo ln -s libboost_python-gcc-mt-1_33_1.so.1.33.1 libboost_python-gcc-mt-1_33.so.1.33.0"
The other dependencies (for me) were just mozilla-browser and mozilla-psm

Ubuntu is the coolest for sure, although it has more hardware problems around ACPI than any other linux I've tried.

in the dust form silicone causes silicosis. Any product that contains it usually has a warning label.
Fiberglass is a carcingen in dust form, and has been banned from housing is some countries for that reason.
