Is there a math-to-English translator for those of the Slashdot community that can't understand the PDF? Theoretically, I should be able to read it -- I have a degree in mathematics -- but we aren't all so lucky.
Right, but now you know that he will keep winning for several more weeks. It is inevitable that when one becomes as successful as Mr. Jennings, people begin to root for the underdog. Now they know that the underdog won't win for several more weeks. Kinda takes the excitement out of it.
Hmm... I'm using Firefox 0.9.3 and when I typed "New York Times" in the URL bar, I got an error window which said "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." I'm using the Windows version -- does that matter?
I said nothing of IQ. I referred only to dumbness. Besides, my only point was that dumbness has a normal distribution, so roughly half the people would be below the average. I don't care how easy it is to measure that.
Driving 80 mph "as the crow flies" would cause me to use less gas and get to work 5 minutes faster with less congestion of the single lane onramp to I-87
Yeah, until you run into congestion in the air. Traffic is traffic, no matter where it is.
I would expect dumbness to have something closer to a normal distribution. In that case, roughly 50% of the population would be dumber than the average. Is there a reference for the distribution of dumbness?
It's also quite possible for others to extend Office functionality to integrate with a document management system. We do it, as I'm sure many, many others do.
While it is not cooler than OSS stuff, it is certainly cooler than pirate software. Software piracy is not cool; that's why you should use free software.
That would be 2.x.c where x is odd. Just like before 2.0.

My complaint is that it seems to be very slow. I can't believe it is a cache link. If it wasn't a cache, at least I wouldn't have got my hopes up.

Yes, I do metamoderate. It doesn't do a thing for me. I've sent an email to the editors and I got no response.
This might be a good idea if the recommendations that the W3C puts out were actually standards.
In my opinion, Californians just seem to be more litigious in general.

I think you missed the joke.

This link gets rid of the awful colour.
It's a new twist on security. If there aren't any ordinary citizens on the flight then there isn't any danger.
As a full metal construction and 18th century quality work it's hard to blow up with convention explosives. A mini H-bomb might do the trick however.
Ahem. That should be 19th century. Wikipedia entry

However while most people agree that past performance is indicative of the future nothing can predict what is going to happen.
If most people agree to that, then how come almost every prospectus contains the boilerplate "Past performance is not indicative of future results"?
I know I speak for the gaming world when I say "woo.".
Forget Lynx; use Telnet instead. If the content is not readable it's probably not worth it anyway.
And by thier inability to spoell wile doing so.
This sure seems controversial to me. What's the problem?
Actually, there is. The link is at the top right corner.
I want to see the first person selling Anti-Virus for a refridgerator or reciever.
I would be happy with antibacteria for the fridge. I'd never have to worry about those "mystery" packages ever again.
