Oh, I see. So making a vaccine which can help protect the 99.4% of humanity that is not infected is not nearly as exciting as a cure for the 0.6% of humanity living with HIV?
Wow. Are you serious? I mean, "a pain to replace"? If you bought a new car, they should not be a pain to replace. It's only after they've been on for a couple of years and rusted and seized up that it's a pain to get them off without breaking them into pieces. I change mine twice a year, before and after winter. It takes me about 10-15 minutes a year to replace them, at the staggering cost of $15 per blade.
If you want to talk about stock crap, how about those tires that come with your new car? It's almost reckless the way they cheap out on those.
In nightly builds that have been released since the beta 3 code freeze, the bookmark process has been refined further. When the user bookmarks the page by clicking the star icon in the URL bar, the browser will inform the user that the page has been bookmarked... I've been using nightly builds for the past month or two, and this is not what I am seeing right now. I only see that box pop up if I double click the star.
Oh, and a chimpanzee and a little kid in the trunk. Okay, that's the second such comment I've seen in this story. Can someone explain the reference/post a link?
First of all, you skipped Windows 2000, which was the real 5.0 (XP was 5.1). Secondly, why do you say "of course"? Why can't Windows 7 be the name for it? 7 might be their lucky number.
I think you missed the "the" in the headline. "The VA" can't refer to "VA Linux" (an entity which doesn't even exist in that name; even the "VA Software" name was dropped six months ago). Nor does "The VA" refer to the state of Virginia. In either of those cases I would expect "Anatomy of VA's IT Meltdown". What else could "the VA" stand for?
For one thing (and the only thing I have actually used it for), you can create PDF forms using Acrobat. I don't think you can do that with ghostscript. Please let me know if you find out otherwise. There are plenty of other things that it does as well. What do you think all those plugins are for anyway?
Have you ever seen an obfuscator? Run your code through one of those and see how easily reversible it is.
I just want to know what chuckle-head things that University of Waterloo is in Toronto.
Yeah, I checked it out... Waterloo is 1 degree north of Boston.

If you read the article...
You lost me there.
This leaves me scratching my head, because I don't really see any significant performance improvement of Safari over Firefox. Sorry Safari fans.
Count me in too. It's just expected on Slashdot, dontcha think?

Uh, the download seems to be broken, but ... http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/hero/game/
Heh. "Ameoba".
I wouldn't want to claim ownership of that in a public forum. Are you looking for pity?
Then you would have a completely different probl
I'd like to see how you look with a fluorescent tumour inserted into your abdominal cavity.

You must be new here.
I'm not saying it's a good idea, but have you ever heard of rent-a-cops?
The same way that the ship is connected to the shore? You don't need to go underwater.
Does that include a $6 "network access fee"?
Given that most browsers are coded in C++, rather than Java or C#, garbage collection is a non-issue.
Here's where you lost me. Are you saying that there aren't garbage collectors for C++?

Seriously, this story was just an excuse to combine the "theoryofeverything" and "surfing" tags.
The only thing worse than a dupe is the two dozen replies pointing out that it is a dupe.

And where exactly is "unreasonable" defined?
