It will also affect the people who have a strict budget that they follow for various things. Someone has $20 to spend on music. Used to be able to buy 20 songs. now they can buy 15.
The number of songs sold goes down, income stays the same.
There weren't any because the ad's didn't cause an itch that needed to be scratched. As soon as ads started to cause that itch to programmers they wrote the program to scratch it.
100% correct. There is a manufacturer near where I grew up that got great tax breaks when they built their new building 15 years ago. The sunset on those tax breaks was 15 years (It ran out a few months ago). The company is closing the plant and moving to Mexico in the next month or 2.
So yeah, those tax breaks are only good for making sure you have an empty commercial building X years down the road.
One of the very important features of Open Sourcing your project is you can develop it for multiple platforms. If it runs only on Windows, all I can say is, I'm not going to touch it. sorry
Port it then. I'd love to see you startup MTA in linux. Will be a very hard thing to do, since Grand Theft Auto is a windows only game, but I'm sure with enough work on Wine and rewriting MTA you'll be able to handle it.
If employees don't trust each other or the sysadmins, your organization probably either has serious problems, or it's the DOD.
Or it's something like a Hospital or Dr office and everyone doesn't need to know that Patient A is being moved by Nurse Station A to Nurse Station B and is his room ready?
Information wants to be free, but privacy is a good thing. I'm actually in the process of examining various Jabber servers for something that can authenticate to Active Directory and supports encryption for a Surgery Center. We've ruled out any server that isn't in house, so even encrypting things over AIM, etc isn't an option. I've looked at ejabbard and will not start looking at crossfire since I read about it here.
Keep it simple, and explain the exact situation: There is no way to use the restaurant's new website on an iPhone, at all; while it used to work perfectly fine (make sure they realize this second part - something is broken that used to work well).
Well, if the pizza shop owner were me I would kindly show you how to program the phone number into your iPhone and politely recommend you order over the phone. It's safer to talk on the phone while driving than to be surfing the web while driving. I would feel horrible if you got into a fiery auto wreck just because you were trying to order a pizza on the internet.
My friend John (motorcycle accident, 24 years old, very tragic)
How was it tragic? Did he run over a girl scout who was leading an old lady across the street to help a stray cat give birth to a litter of kittens whos licks would have cured cancer?
Oh, and now all I get is "Due to overwhelming interest, our Cuil servers are running a bit hot right now. The search engine is momentarily unavailable as we add more capacity."
They do require you to get a license, which involves putting in your name and email address. The license is valid for 14 months, at which time you need to get another.
Mythic has stated that they intend to make loot matter a lot less than it does in WoW. A lot less. In WoW gear is the deciding factor above all else. If you have tier 5 gear, and I have tier 2 gear, then it doesn't matter how good I am, you win.
To be fair, all of that stuff was planning for the expansion, it just wasn't completed in time. IN FACT, it's very likely that the Bugs in the Lady Vashj encounter were in place specifically to make the encounter impossible, just to slow down the higher level guilds until Mount Hyjal and Black Temple were completed. The week Blizzard released MH/BT, they also fixed a massive bug in the Vashj encounter, which made it so a large number of the guilds who were stuck on her were able to kill her that week. While it's just anecdotal, it makes sense to me.
Why not? I do. Really? you go 90KM on public transportation with 2 kids, a backpack for each of the kids, your daily supplies for the kids (snacks, change of clothes, etc), and *5-6* baskets of laundry, then travel 90KM back 8-10 hours later with 2 sleeping kids, and the bags/baskets of clean laundry?
Those of us using MS Office have no trouble with document interchange, except when it comes to the XML vs. binary file formats (older MS office users can't read/open the .xlsx or .docx formats, for example).

Not entirely true about requiring addons. Privoxy came out pretty soon after popups started (X-10 Camera anyone?)!
But yes, you are correct. Popups pretty much caused the whole ad block movement.

He's French.
You suck at counting.

If that surprises people slocate will knock their socks off. It's not installed default on most distributions, but it's one of the apps I install.

It would be a lot easier to pressure China into cleaning up their mess if a certain western country reduced its own polution.
You believe that?

I will have to concur with not having any problems with bittorrent behind this router. I'd say the grandparent got a piece of bum hardware.
You can just get the Vonage Linksys: WRT54GP2. Has built in vonage and QOS for it.

This just in: World of Warcraft isn't a single player game.
I believe it's 520,000 web *links*.
Why not try some Gagh then?
This was a joke. I am smarter because I can detect jokes.
