I think that instead of going FF, Nikon has the differentiation opportunity to go “small medium format”, with a sensor of the size as used by the compact hasselblad mirrorless camera. Older FF lenses could still work in a sensible crop mode.
I had a very quick look at the tutorials overview and contents. Despite the cynism here on the forum, I find this initiative an interesting and laudable way to learn about a fascinating topic. It sure is very different and difficult to grasp, but probably worth spending effort on, even if only for personal enrichment.
As the other poster said, wechat and alipay are not that popular over here, however WeChat is slowly growing in acceptance. Apple Pay is popular, everyone I know with an iphone uses it regularly. I use it often too,
.
If you use octopus, like I do, with occasional manual cash top up then there is no way to track.
If you use auto top up from your bank account then conceivably there is a way to track.
In any case the government would not be that interested in me.
In general very happy with octopus.
I currently live in Hong Kong and find that cash can largely be replaced with two notable exceptions.
Most popular is the use of the octopus card - it is the public transport card that many, so very many shops accept as well.
And then there is visa/mastercard/apple pay cash quick payments in many shops as well.
Frankly, I love that.
The exceptions: infuriatingly (not just me thinks that), local taxis demand cash. Also the smallest street stalls or wet market stalls are cash only.
Not sure why you refer to a Chinese century of shame.
I currently live in Hong Kong and often am for work in mainland China.
The dynamism, professionalism and quality orientation of chinese industry is obvious.
I meet many talented, industrious professionals who absolutely deserve their success.
Just wanted to add that the episode BLINK was my absolute favourite of the modern Doctor Who series, an absolutely perfect little piece of scary SF.
What says you?
This is encouraging news. i had read previously of Watson helping doctors in diagnosing a baffling case of Leukemia that seemed totally untreatable, Watson correctly indicated that the patient had 2 kinds of Leukemia at once, which the human doctors didn’t realise.
Machine learning will not soon replace human doctors, I think, but you can see it becoming a powerful support tool for doctors, hopefully finding ailments earlier as well. Fascinating.
I liked the youtube clip linked. Charming and somewhat reminiscent of Blade Runner.
I currently live in Hong Kong, several skyscrapers do a bit of a lightshow and the tallest building (ICC) also features beautiful evening animations over its height, but they are monochrome.
Most local people and visitors like these animations and light shows, quite different from the soul crushing negativity one again on display here.
Regardless whether this is a slashvertisement or enthusiast submission, it is quite an interesting product - apparently you can make 300m / 1000 feet long networks with it, using the one cable that transports both power and data. I find it quite a cool solution for makers.
âoeNone of the files contained content information -- like text messages and photos â
Well, if I remember well, last time I changed an iphone, after the setup process it had my past conversations, which i thought was neat, yet it also means that Apple does store the data, perhaps in a way that can only be decrypted using your password.
I write âoeif I remember wellâ since I may be confusing with icloud. It is definitely the case, and desirably so of course as it is its reason of existence, that your photos and other apps that use icloud are kept bu Apple. Again it all depends whether this is encrypted against their possible own snooping.
... if it had classic bluetooth as well.
I would be in the market to replace my big floorstanding speakers with something small and decent sounding.
But next to Airplay I would want to connect my stereo to it. There are line output > bluetooth adapters, so i heard.
Unfortunately there is no simple airplay sending device (airport express is only a receiver) to get the streaming going.
I don't think that Apple should be testing compatibility of IOS updates (or any other tech vendor or producer of for example cars) on permutations of 3rd party hardware. It is the job of the part producer to check that their replacement part is indeed 100% compatible.
This being said, was the compatibility breakage done on purpose? I don't think they'd do that effort, since it can only piss off recurring customers, but even so it might be possible..
In any case this is a good example of the value of AppleCare+ for a mobile device. We used it to get my wife's Apple Watch screen replaced after our toddler threw it on the floor.
I fondly remember the original game. It showed how a rich narrative could be realised with a FPS engine. And what a great story it was!
A remake with modern graphics without touching the story is perfectly sufficient.
A big budget Hamilton’s Commonwealth series at one season per book, starting with Pandora’s Star would be mindblowingly awesome. Would be a great follow up to Game of Thrones for HBO.

Indeed, I often top up at 711.

I wonder if this would be a sensible dataset to train an AI in creating van gogh style pictures?
This is very similar to the plot of Ben Elton’s 1989 satirical novel Stark, sadly the reality is serious.

I have seen a street performer with a QR code panel for payments.

In general, try not to interview first for your dream job, best to have a little experience handling interviews.
Reductionist thinking.

I think that we can see the results of most of these series investments next year only.

I once read that the original screening was 15-20 minutes longer, and Kubrick trimmed it after the negative reception. Would love to see it.
The astronaut is reborn as a starchild and sent back to earth.
