What freaks me out is all of the people that support a government official that says "This is the way thing ought to be and we are going to make it so." I'm continually discouraged by the number of people over the age of 16 that fall for that crap. If you don't have a clue as to all of the ways this can screw up your beloved internet you suffer from a poverty of imagination.
We should construct incentive networks that slowly migrate off fossil fuels while the costs are reasonable. We are not doing that, and it's going to be hazardous to our entire system.
If game developers ever succeed in getting their playerbase to "behave in a more civilized manner" they should be immediately coerced into plying their skills at the United Nations.
Except that there are serious and legitimate questions about whether of not you are beating your wife. The solution would be to put video cameras in your house. Glad you don't see a problem with that.
Being from Texas I object to the suggestion our elections are not carried out fairly and properly. I don't know about other states, but I applaud the statements by our Attorney General.
If the problem occurs randomly and reports indicate a 90% Republican bias that means that overwhelming instances of Democrat over counting are accepted rather than reported.
I allowed them to index my socks and underwear drawer, but not before I bought new underwear so's as to show off my spiffy skiveys. Now, no matter my mood, the right undies are no more than 0,.27 msecs away. And to think all that is even available now via my phone (or yours). Great googly moogly we have arrived.
The thought just occurred to me that perhaps the precursors to humans mated with theis species; maybe the males of that species like tight pussies, the females of our precursor species liked smart guys, and that's why they went extinct?
As a smart guy what likes tight pussy that seems exceedingly logical to me.
When I see a news report about the issue of outsourcing and the Federal government's concern with it they invariably focus on manufacturing jobs. Why am I always left with the feeling that our government ignores (is not concerned with or aware of) what's going on in IT? Why do the news media not question them specifically about displaced IT workers? Why do we continue to import IT workers when our own citizens can't find jobs in IT?
I've wondered when the "new age" comes if I'll have to tell my computer to trust each of my perl scripts. I've got a lot of scripts. If I'm extracting data from a remote site (even off my own site) how do I tell the other site that my script is 'trusted'. Does that change every time I modify the script? Sounds like a big PITA to me. Seems like it would have to be to gain all of these "trusted" benefits.
I'm agin it. Cause problems. Will not fix SPAM. I have however added SPF records to my DNS. More flexible solution. I'll get around to patching my MTA to reject invalid incomming in good time.
I've been at the contract game for over a decade and the short answer is "No".
The best you can hope for is a relationship based on respect. I respect them if they are talented albeit sleazy salespeople and I expect them to respect me for being a talented albeit mercenary contract whore. In that sense I suppose you can say we are being honest with each other, but that's as far as it goes.
Interested me. I was there, in that Slackware was my first personal UNIX almost ten years ago as well. All of the floppies. Xconfig by trial and error. Dual boot Win3.1 to play games, and Slack for everything else. Yeah, I was there. Brought back memories. There was some comm program I can't remember that I ran, was using it to log on to a BBS when I met the woman I'm married to. Back then when people said "the Internet" they were talking about Usenet. I don't remember the kernel version I started with but it was a 0.99 something. If you were going to run Linux back then you had to want to. But it was just as rewarding.
The article lists "poor animation" as one of six reasons that kids are watching less cartoons, but in my opinion it's more basic than that. They suck. Several years ago the producers started concentrating more on marketing toys than entertaining the kids and when less kids watched (and bought toys) they just increased the marketing until they left out the fun. Several years ago I tried to watch some cartoons with my kids. Except for the classics like Road Runner and Johnny Quest they suck.
I vote for the imaginary old bearded man in the sky
To me you seem blind to the God I see everywhere.
On the other hand she knows to distrust her descendants in the form of her grandchildren.
Yeah, it's easier to put pressure on Indiana. Good that he's swinging for the low hanging fruit.
That's just not true. Or are you making a joke?

I call bullshit.

If you are going the French Revolution route the overclass would be our current political class, not the rich.

Demonstrate you understand an issue or two important to the technical community. Say something techie.

Indeed, "fuck" is always a profanity, but it is not necessarily "profane" to say it,
Do what?
... trying to print from one computer to another using cups, and I found the experience just as frustrating.

Where does one go when researching data in order to sell management on Linux or some other Free Software solution?
"The Business and Economics of Linux and Open Source" by Martin Fink
There's still time to sponsor my attendance.
It's a shame to see good developers go unemployed purely because there is a massive deluge of resumes to try to filter out.
I'm sure my creditors see it as somewhat more than as shame, as do I. But a valid point.
