Back in 1985 I learned Lisp on the Osborne 1. I had to pay for the software! And, it took about 2 weeks just to find a version of Lisp that would run on the Osborne 1. Those were the days!
I lived near Lubbock Texas. The local station didn't carry the first season of Star Trek. The second season was rebroadcast the following Saturday afternoon.
Will people in the near future carry gene sequencers in their pockets?
Go back to 1969 and say that people will carry computers in their pockets.
This trend should lead to a full computer! Maybe like the one I had 10 years ago!

"Otherwise, I will only do what is required of me and nothing more."
So it is to your advantage to keep them ignorant?
See what I mean.
IT workers keep the users ignorant. Then make fun of them for being ignorant.
Power trip.

They did carry the third season in prime time.
Not sure why.
Create a soundtrack to confuse the Google boys.
What fun!
In 1985 I was using Microsoft pascal. 15 minutes to compile.
Along comes Turbo pascal, 20 seconds.
It was instant love.
Know more than the other people you work with.
Just stay one step ahead.
How much does a record on hard drive weigh?
Think about it.
Locks keep honest people out.
Locks are an interesting challenge to dishonest people.
Destructive people don't notice locks.
arbitrary facts into logical events and find dependencies
Doesn't this sound like a paranoid?
Today I was told the IT folks would need to take my PC to the shop to install PcAnywhere.
They are in a building across the street.
No wonder people hate them.

If I opt out what will stop working?
How will I know for sure I am out?
Fiber everywhere. Or do it later.
I seen lots of movies and TV shows with teleporters. Homer is the only one to really put it to practical use.
Who wouldn't want to remotely urinate?
Violent video games do harm children, unless it's a game produced by the Defense Dept.
My son created a Final Fantasy page in 1996. It hasn't been updated since then. We have not had an account with the ISP since 1997.
His page is listed in the 7th position after doing a Google search.
Maybe it's a popular page after all these years.
Odd ain't it.
Maybe too late, depending on when somebody bought it.

You mean I'll have to rent a DVD and copy it to my DVD burner?
I was counting on recording it from TV!
How much will a DVD burner cost in 2006?
How much will used DVD's cost in 2006?
How stupid do they think we are?
Good point! My TV has been on channel 3 for years!
I drove about 50 miles just to see Star Wars
in a digital theater. It was worth it!
Wouldn't the cost start to come down as more theaters go digital?
I met a lady taking super 8 movies for a
class. The film costs $8 minute. $12 for 3
minutes of film and $12 to get it developed.
Wouldn't take long to pay for a nice digital
8 camcorder.
