Good Idea. BTW, yup, they still make them, and i believe you can buy erector "power tools"! I have an idea! i'll build a basic case out of an erector set, and then glue some styrofoam to the outside and i'll have a NG Amiga!
I feel soo incompetant. I must be the only person who actually prefers Pico for basic file editing. Although i do like to fire up a copy of emacs for HTML, ect, i spend most of my file-editing time in Pico, the interface is simple, and in my opinion, quite quick and easy to use.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start a flamewar or anthing, but i just wanted to add my favorite editor to the list.
Cool. Hey, there was another company that I saw on HSN, aand their rep looked JUST LIKE Bill Gates. Well, anyway, it was right after the Pentium Tres (3, for non-spanish speakers) was released, and they were trying to show everyone how fast the Pentium III was, so, they started loading webpages, (off the hard drive, BTW) and talking about how fast the pentium three was making their internet connection. Obviously they thought we were a bunch of clueless idiots. Oh well, anyway, all Wintel OEMs produce crap "internet" computers because the buzzword status sells a lot of machines, which happen to be made from ass-crack parts, which are built in third-world sweatshops for minimal costs.
Its slow and bloated, and Roblimo is full of crap if he thinks that StarOffice could ever be a contender for anything. Besides, i'm pretty sure Corel supports more platforms than StarDivision.
They will probably have a "shareware" CD, which will conntain all of the closed-source stuff. But you could still copy it, because you are supposed to share shareware...
Don't mind if I do (shoot you that is). BTW, you were second post.
Anyway, this is all part of Corel's strategy, they are going to try to win marketshare by being 1) the first Office Apps on new platforms, and 2) by Being the most cross platform Office Suite, with that status they can get the business of mixed computing environments, and possibly their file format could become a standard format used by people on all platforms, like RTF, and sadly MS Word are.
Seriously, though, I like the fact that WP8 for Linux was gratis.
DOS might not be Unix, but Unix can be DOS. Let me explain, DOS stands for "Disk Operating System" since many Unices operate disks, they are DOS. Any questions?
I don't want to go see a demo, i'd love to be able to buy any OS real cheap, like 25-30 USDollars, because then it really isn't too much to try it. Want to see if you like linux??? Go to Cheapbytes and pick up a CD for $2,or a few CD's for only slightly more. Low costs = more people will try it. High costs == forget it.
The cost to try out Mac OS may seem high, btw, but since macs are relatively strong in education, most people probably got a chance to REALLY try a mac at their school. I know I did, but to me, it wasn't worth the money, at least at the time. Anyway, making it easy, cheap, and sometimes free to people to use a product, is a way to get more people to buy it.
AOL calls itself an "internet online service" its buzzword-slinging at its best, they know that they aren't an ISP, so they add "internet" to get people's attention.
AOL, is more of a porno-content provider, definitly, NOT a family service, like they pretend to be, i'm currently gathering evidence to show people that proves it, such as a "keyword" that you can go to, that does nothing but talk about and show pictures of erect nipples. Interesting, but if i started talking about erect nipples in one of their chat rooms, i would be sent a notification of breaking their TOS.
that the iBook comes out the month before the new consumer MacOS???? It is going to be shipped with OS8.6, but the question is, does that include a free upgrade to OS9?
Nope its still run by the government, they just don't get government funding, they support themselves. USPS doesn't have a CEO or Chairman, so it isn't private, the US President appoints a "Postmaster General" to run the USPS
I do know that video survellance is inadmissable as evidence in any federal court unless the subject knew of it beforehand.
Also known as "the sleazy politician law"!
Pres: I did not have sex with that woman! Starr: But we have your encounter on video tape! Pres: Nope, doesn't count Starr: What?!?! Pres: Yup. Thanks to my fellow sleazy politicians, your tapes are inadmissable, because i didn't know you were taping me! Star: But thats ludicris! if you had known you were being taped, you wouldn't have done it, or at least not where the camera could see it! Pres: I know, thats the point.
Stupid law, if they can make that law,, they should also let you know when you are close to a police speed trap, so you can slow down, otherwise the radar reading should be inadmissable in court...
his site he can do what he wants with it, and if that means every CmdrTaco post is 2, then every CmdrTaco post is 2. If you want to do that, then start your own site...
Typical Slashdot replies to a similar thread:
Gee i wonder if the smart card can run Linux?
- Linux? FreeBSD is better!
- How about NetBSD?
Wouldn't that make an awesome Beowolf cluster?
- God, that post was stupid!
Blah blah blah, flamewar, ect....
I was bored, please forgive me.
I'm surprised nobody cracked the chip in the smart card and made themselves an "e-millionaire" or is that iMil?
ahh the joy of freedom of speech!
by the way fifth reply to the second reply to the FIRST POST!!!!
Geeze, Mr. Taco must hate himself for creating a place where such enlightened tinkers can present their views to the world.
BTW, (trying to be slightly ontopic)i think the RedHat portion is GPL, but you can't redistribute the third party enhancements.

BTW, that refers to the fact that AOL stills owns all of the former netscape software, but sun develops it and makes the profit off of it.
(BTW, that was probably extremely wrong, but cares?)
for this insanity. Damned fscking dumb bastard.
I feel soo incompetant.

Now I'm off to learn some new stuff.
i'm gonna seoitch from tik to gaim as soon as i upgrade my distro (i don't have the right version of GLIBC)

"gotta love that (free) beer!"
My ISP, www.monmouth.com (Monmouth Internet) runs BSDi. I run Linux. Me and my ISP are very happy together.
