But anyway, its nice to see some more software available for alternative processors, but what ever happened to the Alpha? Come-on people, lets port to alpha...
where can you buy an amiga? I never owned one... i was born only a year before the 1000 was released. and my first PC was a DOS 3 machine, (which was still in use untill a year or so ago. Anywho, I want an amiga... Anyone know where someone can get one?
Don't forget Corel Either... YADC (yet another Debian Clone) God, dangit, couldn't they have put their own distro together, instead of repackaging Debian? They just wanna look like a cool Linux company, but they don't want to put in the effort.
Multiple distro's isn't a bad thing, but two and three of the same distro is a Bad Thing. The LSB, can make the different distro's compatible, but some people don't want to do any work
Oh, and also, can't we all agree on a package manager already? I vote for RPM.
I'm not sure about PA-Risc, but, i am sure that Microsoft has allready dropped NT/PPC, and i think they also dropped NT/MIPS. Last time i checked, you had a choice of NT/x86, NT/Alpha, or the upcoming NT/Merced. btw, where did compaq come in? i don't have PDF on this PC...
GEM was killed because of lawsuits from aplle and promises of vaporware from microsoft. However, it has been revived on the PC, (and its catching up to windows... it'll be 3.11 quality soon...) and it is still in use on some people's old ATARI's and i believe it is now called MagiC... can't be sure...
True, Windows Users tend to love all windows versions, but they aren't a community. When was the last time you saw a Windows user spend all night helping a Newbie do domething simple and tedious to the rest of us? I haven't, but Linuxers generally do, regardless of the Distro.
BTW, that rivalry does exist in the AOL world. Compuserve users tend not to like AOL, AOL users tend not to like AOL, and then there are the radicle users who not only think AOL is the "best ISP" but they also think that AOL should be integrated into IE5, which they think is "the best browser"
c'mon, its friendly competition anyway, like at Apple, the Apple II people Vs the Macintosh guys. Its the same with linux really, we all compete with each other, and that is what helps our OS become great, because of the Competition.
They bought all of Digital Research, the whole damn company, from Novell, all of the software, employees, assets, and claims against Microsoft, ect, of Novell. DRI was never really integrated into Novell... so it wasn't that hard to do. DR-DOS is the product from that deal that Caldera is actually trying to sell. They own the rights to CP/M, GEM/ViewMax (released as GPL), DR-DOS, ect, ect, ect. BTW, they are also including the fact that MS-DOS is a knockoff of their CP/M that included CP/M sourcecode. (another reason they bought DRI)
The Board of Directors, which rob seems to have been appointed to, is the Highest point in a corporate stratosphere. AKA he MIGHT need a tie. Also, (aimed at another poster) Steve Jobs does wear a Tie, but he always wears a bowtie, and only when it seems neccesary.
it is extremely unusual that a website that provides a free service like slahdot, can ever make a profit. This was a sound descision. Good luck Rob.
Oh, and BTW, heres a hint about the tie thing. You can always roll one up and keep it in either a Laptop case or in your pocket, and if it looks like you'll need it,then out it on, otherwise, don't bother.

Viewer.exe is better than apprunner... Viewer.exe should be the netscape 5
Interesting Fact: Compuserve was started as a division of an Insurance Company called Compu-Serv. Hmm, insurance == proprietary online service....
Wow, that earned me an instant -1...
But anyway, its nice to see some more software available for alternative processors, but what ever happened to the Alpha? Come-on people, lets port to alpha...
