    Your best bet is to roll your own, following the instructions at Linux From Scratch. It takes some time, but you can squeeze every bit of performance out of that machine that way.

    Somewhere back in the IE6 betas Microsoft dropped support for Netscape style plugins, instead opting to use ActiveX objects exclusively.

    I really doubt that he meant he booted up into plain old darwin and and typed at the shell prompt :)

    I've done that, and I can say that the framebuffer console in Darwin is painfully slow. My dumb terminal at 38.4 kb/s is faster than that.

    Yeah, I don't think anybody would object to getting their comment modded up, but flamebait is a -1. Slashdot would be a much different beast if it was +1, methinks.

    Well, there are targeted ads on Slashdot now. Look at the "Ad: PriceCompare" link in the "Related Links" box. It's linked to whatever section of PriceGrabber.com is relevant to the current story. In this case, for example, it's games.

    You could use it to have 2 monitors, and have a huge desktop. Having two AGP cards is a serious advantage in this situation, as there won't be a PCI card to hold you back.
