Having used wireless for 4 years or so because i am in the boonies, i can wireless sucks. Weather does effect your connections, no matter what they say. And they don't like to roll out the trucks when there's a problem. Stick to the umbilical cord.
The knowledge to be in biotech is much higher than for computer science. Even fewer people are capable of working this area. Each new boom requires more and more knowledge which makes for fewer and fewer workers.
I loved this book. It showed in detail the application of social engineering in ways you might not have thought possible. It didn't show a lot of heroic hacking, which was part of the point. There were some good bits on how to install trojan horses though.
A frontal assault would be the perfect distraction to cover frodo to get in and destroy the ring. As this is what sauron expects he wouldn't be expecting an attempt to destroy the ring.
I want to see a good movie. I don't care where it is in a series. It must stand on its own. I don't think TT did stand on its own. It was good. Interesting. Stunning. But it wasn't as good as the first movie.
If you understand how this works it's just a very elaborate machine based on the building blocks of elements. At some point there's a being worth protecting, but it's weeks or months later, not when there a few dividing cells.
This could be the project that signals the end of microsoft. It's like you know a company is going to croak when they build/lease a new huge building. Nobody really gives a flying fuck about file system integration. Anything they want to do they could do now. What they are doing things is an internal rearchiteture which is usually a similar sign of the end.
We make counter offers because we actually want to keep people. Yes, it would be better if management asked if people were happy and it would be better if people asked for raises, but people are busy, shy, etc. If your company was going to screw you you would know it and should act accordingly. If you trying to change the work you are doing then leave because it's not about the money.
Yah you are crazy. If the software doesn't work it's probably not the OS, it's the application in which case linux won't make a difference. BTW, mozilla still crashes. So does linux. Not so good for air traffic control.
Any waste produced means the you are being inneficient with resources which means you are losing money. This type of design can be cheaper beacause it is far more efficient in the use of resources.
In that time frame we are supposed to get creamed by a supernova. We don't have time. We need to use mars as a stepping stone to get some of us somewhere safe.
It's not clear what "nicely wrapped" objects have to do with distributed programming. OO doesn't make distributed programming any easier or harder. They are separate issues. If it didn't work it's because they didn't solve the right problem.
I love the star wars books. Except the books written around the movies. They suck because they are only meant to tie together events rather than be the source of the events in the first place. Any of the other books would make an interesting base for movies. Books just for movies apparently don't work at all. They are soul-less plot for plot's sake wastes of time.
It's not just that the simulations use simple rules, but we humans use simple rules too because we are simple minded and are usually driven by simple heuristics. It's not suprising that the simulated behaviour closely matches real behaviour. Fot it to be otherwise would take a level of intelligence we don't seem to have.
You'll blow a lot of time in refactoring and testing. Don't confuse appropriate design with BDUF. Appropriate design is not only not impossible, it is done all the time.

Why would i want to virtualize everything as a file system? File systems have almost no useful behaviour at all.

The winning idea was cool, but the rest looks
like free development for google rather
than something novel.
Agreed. It's way complex for not much gain.
All the namespace crap makes it impossible
to read or write. And what good is it really?

We spend. We go in debt to spend more.
We are good americans!
