Not a good sign. Booting should be one of the solidest part of the system. If it's bailing it's likely that some piece of hardware is giving it the no go. That usually doesn't correct itself.
>I think one reliable system beats out two >redundant (but necessarily more complex) >systems in this case.
That's kind of the point, that you don't know if something is reliable. With 2 boards they could watch each other in case something funky happened. As this is vxworks you know that will happen.
The old hacker idea ain't the rules any more and it's the republicans who made the rules. They should fry like all the others. It doesn't make any less hacking because it was easy.
It also doesn't matter what party did what or who is responsible for the security. It matters what happened and what are the laws.
The writers said one thing they didn't like about the old show is you didn't know why the cyclons were after the humans. I still don't. They just attack after X years of peace. Why?
MS was agressively staffing for a search engine group. I wonder if they couldn't find all the people they needed or they decided it would take too long.
Companies routinely ask their employees for stuff to patent. As employees get money for patents there is a lot of pressure to pattent any old thing. You are also encouraged not to consider prior art. The result is predictable.
How is it a troll? Do you know anything about real-time systems and latency requirements? We have just been through a major evaluation of linux and this arena and didn't use linux for this reason.
Just because you don't agree doesn't make it a troll.
Rail is good for long distances but i really doesn't work intra city. Very few people use them because you have to drive to the rail then get to work somehow. That's not very practical. I'd like to see massive fleets of small efficeint busses that can provide point to point service.
NPR had a bit about using digital filing for TV shows. It didn't save that much money as i remember. 10% or so. But it was enough to make a difference.
If you don't like your job then just quit. Don't make it a crusade. Let the other people live their lives and make their own decisions. Sounds like you just want stir up the shit for shit sake.
BTW, if you rely on your job validation you are always at the mercy of others. If you are not appreciated who cares. If you don't like the hours work less and see if you get fired.
The matrix is just reality TV for the creators. They are bored in their advanced society so create all these simulated worlds as stations for their viewers. For a little extra you can even be a character in the simulation.
This is for plausible deniability. If anyone seriously suggests the idea then they can be refuted with "oh, that's just the movie The Matrix." dumbshit. But, still, for those in the know it is a wedge to contact others of like minds. Unfortunately the matrix movie is just another part of the simulation.
If you made a new kind of science
don't you think you should have come
up with some testable predictions
that move science forward?
It takes some big ones to push a new science
when they coudn't think of anything new
based on it.
I am not saying they shouldn't do static
analysis, but i'm betting on vxworks most
of the bugs will be in the dynamic behaviours.

This tribalism is nuts.

DS9 rocks! And other baseless fanatical
statements.
If people start tampering with these devices
expect a new eula that will make such
activities illegal. In the end we won't
own our cars either.

That's how management sees it. It doesn't see
software as a core competency or something that
can be use as an advantage to get more customers.
It's going on my property without my permission.
Much like telephone calls.
The private property libertarians would probably
not say it's ok to trespass. How come it's ok
to spam?

Linux will need to task switch in microseconds
rather than milliseconds before it can become
usable as a platform.

It's good to be an illegal monopolist.
Nothing happens to you and you clean up.

Again. Moron.
From reading the posts it sounds like if you
use the right keyboard, the right pressure,
take breaks, have the right posture, etc then you'll be ok.
All those preconditions sounds like there's a
lot of risk to me. Rock climbing is safe if
you do X, Y, Z. But if you don't, you are
screwed.

If apple partners with amazon then people
could use amazon the create their own record
stores without having to worry about the
plumbing.

It was far slimier for microsoft to trademark windows in the first place.
