I can relate to the article as two of their choosen games make my list.
1) Mega Man 2: Never before has there been a game that remained fresh and fun to play all my life. I still get goosebumps every time I have to jump the bricks and fight the mechanical dragon on Dr.Wily's first stage.
2) Burnout 3: Great game when you just want to break something AND listen to a good non-video game soundtrack. Best served after sitting in traffic and filled with stress.
3) Tempest 2000: While my Jaguar is usally not hooked up, whenever i'm in the mood to zone-out i'll plug it in and loose days to this game. If i'm unable to play this, i'll just load up Gridwars on my PC.
4) Super Metroid: Though it has as much replay value to me as Mega Man 2, I cannot play it as often as I like to saviour this game every time I play.
5) Blast Corps: Even better then Burnout for smashing things, this is for everyother moment I want to smash something.:)
The reason the first Metroid was difficult would be the fact that you had NO MAP!!!
Sure you could create some bastardized atlas yourself on severla hundred pages of paper using nothing but fat Crayola markers, but really...I'd rather not go into the childhood trauma which was losing those maps.
Just to clarify, this is NOT the megaton rumor. The megaton news was to move GAMECUBE hardware, not GBA hardware.
Regardless, I think i'll stick with my current GBA, as I only use mine at home with my gamecube and the new model GB dosnt look like it would make a good controller for the GC (But i could be wrong, i'll wait till my brother buys one and I'll take that for a test drive/play)
You know, the music may have its merits but when they start loading up the harddrives with a few gigs of pr0n before I buy it, then maybe I'll be interested (Now thats a time saver!)
I bought mine with the sole intention of trying to make simple games on it. After a few attempts at a Diablo 2 port (You can run around a basic grass level with a necromancer, never got beyond that), I basically gave up on it because it never seemed to be as handy as the old pen & paper combo. Of course, this may be due to myself owning a pen knife that was much cooler then the PDA itself:)
OtherTechGuy: "I got the newest Palm" Me: "I got a pen knife" OtherTechGuy: "So..?" Me: "I'll cut yah" OtherTechGuy: "Here..take the Palm pilot..." (nervously hands me his PDA)
could you do that with a PDA? I thought not. Now mod me up, or i'll cut yah.
Well i'm happy that someone has realised that the Atari Jaguar controllers rocked and would make a great phone:)
But what will suck is if you're trapped in a burning building / hostage situation and you dial 9-1-1 for help only to find you activated a secret konami code and you got a few extra 1-up's:)
Dont forget, Bruce also mentioned that he put a large chunk of cash into research to replicate and manufacture kryptonite. It took him years, but eventually he was able to make some. (Giant krypton-gloves, kryptonite arrows for green arrow..)
Though the fraud on ebay has seemed to become more common, I feel that eBay is still a generaly safe and easy place to use. I've been using ebay for over 3 years now and can say that i've only been scammed twice (2 other packages where lost in the mail, but the postal service admitted it and covered my costs) and I think in the end it boils down to the users common sense about things and there willingness to research something. After I got scammed the first time (thankfully for only $30) I made it a point to do a little more back-checking for auctions that I was interested in. Sure it isn't a 100% deturant against fraud, but by taking the time to think about the auction and its seller rather then 'jumping onto a great deal immeditaly' could save you greif in the furture.
I understand some people will say its hard to see it comming, and I agree. I have found though (through friends) that eBays policy for fraud is very laid back, but I can vouche for PayPal's fraud service. I have gotten my money back fast and easily through them (only on 3 occasions, so maybe I'm just hitting some dumb luck here).
I hope this wave of publicizing eBay's fraud policies does educate the users of ebay, but at the same time I hope it does not turn off potential new users to the community.
I'll be happy if they do create a DC version of the game and then join the servers up and have a full cross-over event (i dunno, have all the hero's battle it out for awhile then tell em to go and defeat some uber-god that threatens both universes), he I can see it now "The losing side will have their server destroyed..." how about that for universal pressure;)
Of course, the whole issue with using duplicate characters could be solved easily with a DC mmorpg if they just ignore the whole "crisis on infinity earths" story arc and make certain games for certain earths/times. oh..damn..my head is spinning now...ugh..
Note: If an amalgamation is planed then I look forward to my IronMan character being spliced with cowboy neil's Green Lantern to form the godly 'Iron Lantern' (yes, he was cheesy, but cool nonetheless)
One of the last web sites I worked on (now offline), being an e-commerce store, allowed you to search for products. I took the time to code in certain responses to odd items (such as 'Cloned Cat', 'Sweet imported Monkey Love'). Also, my last interactive CD-ROM for a Camp Reservation Service contained a custom search engine to find documents in the large CD, of course if you wanted to search for "Death by Monkey" then it would activate a.wav file which told the user "We Apolojize for the Monkey Attacks. Such events often occure on our camp grounds. Have a cookie."
well, not the most original, but it was late and I was losing my mind after such programming.
No good will come of this movie, all the actual readers (of both the novels and comics) will know that Batman would win, but the general public will just assume that Superman would win due to his powers and will argue this to no end. No matter how they write this film a large base of people will end up disapointed and out for blood.
For all our sakes, I hope all the slashdoter's who are interested in this movie go and read at least the Frank Miller stories. I have read both the Dark Knight Returns and its sequal, both of which are an amazing written story (I can't recommend it enough)
I guess you never actually read any of the comics then, in fact basically every time they meet Batman whips superman like a little girl. Just because super man has powers doesnt mean he wins, remember, Batman is smarter and will set up any fight to his specifications. Superman isn't the brightest of fellows ever (duh..i'll use my heatvision). Just read Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller (as well as the sequal comic to is in which batman leaves superman a bloody lump) and you should get an idea what I mean.
Thats why I think this movie will be a bad idea, it cannot cature to both the hardcore comic readers and the common public. The actual comic readers would know that Batman would most likely win (or at least kick the daylights out of superman) while the common public wont be able to get past the idea that since superman has powers and batman does not, then it will be an easy victory for superman.
Atari, besides playing an important role in the video game industry, also played a great role in my life.
I remeber I always was interested in programming video games but could not get access to a computer to learn how, then one christmas it all changed.
My Uncle, who worked as a programmer for several companies, gave me his development Atari XL 1200. Complete with all the programming docs straight from Atari and Microsoft (as well as over 350 copied games onto floopy)..and thus began my decent into code madness. So what if it took me a week to learn how to draw a flashing sprite on screen with 20 lines of code, it was fun! (especially using those official Atari QA test forms my uncle gave me with all those other documents)
Not only did Atari take a great many childhood hours away from me with all the addictive games, but also started me toward prgramming.
Best 2+ Person Game?
;)
sex.
Don't tell me that ain't a proper video game, cause there are plenty of things you can plug in, and plenty of video to watch.

My mom says I'm cool.

So when can we get a full daikatana archive? What? nobody else want the alpha's for that?
I'd recommend the following:
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (just.plain.cool)
Perfect blue
Spirited Away (though Totoro is my favorite of the two)
Can't recall many other actual movies as of yet, I'm knee deep in episodes of X clamp which i'm finding fairly interesting.
You know, the music may have its merits but when they start loading up the harddrives with a few gigs of pr0n before I buy it, then maybe I'll be interested (Now thats a time saver!)

If they forsee a lack of face doners then I think its time to cash in.
1) Scan Face with flatbed scanner
2) eBay
3) PROFIT!
I wonder if they will offer the faces of famouse dead celebrities for auction? Now that would be a true collectible.

No time to report news, playing Metroid Prime.
I bet it would hurt like hell trying to pass a beowulf cluster out of you're ass.
opps...I made baby jesus cry again.
Every time somebody makes yet another Beowulf cluster joke/reference they make baby IT developer Jesus cry.

The 2nd part of the Dark Knight story line is called 'The Dark Knight Strikes Again', you can find more information on it at:
http://www.dccomics.com/features/dk2/dk2.html
I personally don't really like the art in this one, but the fact that the story line is top notch more then makes up for it.
