    I would also add that if the document is going to be printed or PDF or image with text then read it backwards. This makes sure you read the words one by one and not in the context on a sentence where I can be easy to "read ahead" and take in the whole sentence and miss some spelling or other errors.

    I hear you but many small businesses dont have the tech to put all this in place - let alone the money to pay consultants to do it for them.

    It may be a lacking protocol but how does the world change overnight to make the move to another?

    Some of the most honest businesses out their require are person to take an email of a list because they said REMOVE - and so they should.

    (Not a dig @ you) But should mom&pop businesses wind their commercial use of the internet back in because it is only the domain of BIB businesses who can afford the knowledge / time / effort of doing something in the "right" way?

    I am happy to make it "fair go" and block / blacklist / etc those who are on the extremes.

    I am seeing it as more of a pyramid scheme. There are a few people taken in to BE spammers and the gross effect is moved to those who take the net benifit.

    The tone of SPAM still has the "INSERT ad here feel" but the is also a rise in my logs of "Reach x people via this new wonderland of internet marketing" - it stinks of a "join in now and you can be a bronze->silver->gold spammer in no time".

    Basically put if you tell someone it works and it can work for them then why would they not try to "get in on the ground level"? ....but the real question is how do we stop human nature.....(not really a question)

    The profit motive is a strong and reasonable reason for all people to work - including those who set up businesses to profit and control their own personal destiny. Everyone has risk, more so for startups and small business owners.

    Yes and this is why large unions have a place to offer a balance of lobbing on behalf of members and nonmembers to protect a common interest.

    I have a small business and yes I want to make it large but I have no intention of biting the hand that feeds me - the business's success is our success and some of your comments speak to me as that you overlook the many, many modern and skilled employers that view "staff" as colleagues and business partners.

    Sure we might have a lot of power to influence the lives of "workers" (ironic that all of us in a business are part of this group) but so do they on the productivity of the whole.

    Perhaps your point is only slanted at big business but I feel that in the majority there are many businesses who value and reward their employees in monetary and other (employee desired) ways. It just sounds (to me) like that you have a mindset on this issue that is stuck in the past.

    Oh BTW if this response pisses you off then I am elated that I must be doing something right and positive for my colleagues (aka staff).

    I live 50 Km out of Adelaide (where I work). I short while ago I was driving in France where on motorways you can drive at 130 Kmph (as opposed to 110 over here).

    Since we only have 2 lanes on the freeway it means that the outside lane is full off people going 200 k's and the inside is empty except for trucks. There are many "keep left unless overtaking" signs but have little effect on people who want to drive below the limit in the "fastest" lane.

    When the road gets to 3 lanes it is still the same - 2 empty and 1 choked because of people not moving over.

    I think it is a driver confidence problem or perhaps just plain abuse. -> If I want to go the speed limit then why do I have to put up with the cretins who can't or won't!!

    I don't speed and drive responsibly but SA drivers are crap!

    On a side note I "accidentally" made my GF drive though the Arch de Triumph at peak hour and she managed! (Sorry for the spelling) Australian drivers are appalling on mass but they can do it!

    Seriously though I wans't implying a "struggle" I was saying there is a difference in having different amounts of cash but compared to the rigid and obvious class distinctions of other nations ours I prefer more.

    And for you to harp on about some pissy point about has a bigger dick that is as pathetic as the points you were given.

    Now what is this class struggle you speak of? Are their some Oz Masterminds stopping you earn (if that is your measure) more to be more? (NOTE: I don't really understand your measure of class, what is class to you???).

    Never underestimate the power to set office workers minds at ease by wearing blue and carrying a ladder. It's a total class issue. White collar workers think blue collar workers a beneigth them and not worth challenging.

    PS: The is no class (structure) in Australia perhaps apathy, different cultures, values and amounts of cash but not class structure. Many families have blue and white collar bread winners so that kinda implies that you mean to say that within a hosehold there are two classes.

    Your comments are so wrong about "punishment, not improving work prospects " - The whole idea is that people work.

    I am a Recruiter - I have real experince with the difference between what people say they can do and what they really can. Sames goes for "what" they want to do. I've done factory work, I've cleaned toilets, I've done programming. Now tell me again how you have been punished?

    Face facts: If you come in for an interview and you have a willingness and experience to do work then you are more favourably considered than those who don't.

    Work is work. Your "fun" is fun but work is work even if you love/hate it it is still work.

    Good luck on getting a job you enjoy. Sincerly. (It is out there)

    For myself I see the diagramtic interpretation of breaking down a project into modules which can be investigated and solved.

    There are a few elements of tight rope balance and balance in general. The former being a path A->B the latter being a balance.

    Additionally there are seperate shapes for phyisical and virtual (orgainsational) groups.

    The hard drawn triangle on one side indicates an absolute spectra pushing from different directions leading to a resolution; it is goal orientated.

    The triangle / dimond at the top of the page is the doubt meaning == the solution, the current absolute unknown.

    The X shaped device is the "idea", this is a doodle.

    At a conference in Adelaide for the EIA (Electronic Assoc. of Australia) a guy from HP (Europe) talked about how they have to factor in enviromental recycling cost due to be bourne by the manfacture. Apparently Europe is passing such laws. This could mean that since they have to make a specific product for *that* market it is necessary to region code it to factor in that cost.

    Sounds logical to me - but then again I could have it all wrong :-)

    Why waste the energy? Would it not be possible to use a cooling system that recycled then energy to produce some electricity?

    I am sure that having a "power plant" inside a PC would be very costly but so is building the 1st car - its just when they are a commodity item the unit cost is significantly less. Since power will become expensive this sort of research may be a great benifit in the long term. If its is too expenisve for a single PC / Server perhaps a seperate device in a server farm which would draw the heat energy from a group of processors and feed it back. Then perhaps a large design of processor will be a *good* idea (from this limited perspective anyway).

    Free SME franchise idea:

    1) Have a network app based on a good busniess idea

    2) Appeals to a market in consolidation (ie: many smaller players with good product / service knowledge facing price competition from larger players)

    3) Create app based on real product / service knowledge

    4) Have boot disk for "server" to connect to The Server accross the net

    5) Have "client" disk for *n clients

    Outcome: With aging hardware ppl with product / service skills can compete with less costs and give greater (local) quality to the consumer.

    I have a room full of outdated hardware which in a few hours can (an will be) a call centre in a couple of hours. I believe the addition of the "how" and that "what" the is real future of network based apps are.

    I apologise for being ambiguous but I cant give all my cards away can I :-)

    Thanks to LTSP & MySQL & Apache & PHP for all the work they have done to make ideas into a business reality.

    *n = IMHO should be unlimited if using Open Source

    Like any drug there will always be the gap between those who take it and those who don't.

    No matter how benifical it may be to some in certain circumstances there will be many were it is just not a factor of relevantcy.

    We can assume to "us" that this of good in our lives but what do we explain to those who have no can opener nor McDonalds?

    Good intentions...yes. Good ideas...yes. Another new chasm yes. Be careful what we wish for.
