This kind of trend is only gonna end when something catatrophic happens and it's traced back to someone that could have said something but didn't out of fear of losing their job or prosecution. It wouldn't suprise me if the whole FEMA/Katrina fiasco was this kind of situation.
Can a federal law be passed to correct this? DOes congress even care?
Geesh.. it's not an Ozzie and Harriet world. I watch my kid does online. This is not going to stop online predetors. Kids will find a way around age verification. What will the gov't do then? Outlaw websites? Come on!
This is AWESOME! I would love to see old TV shows to get a second chance. Granted most of us weren't even born when these shows first aired, but they are by far something that needs to be preserved. It's part of the American culture and of broadcasting history. I for one, would gladly get some of these shows. Especially if they leave the old comemricals intact!
If only it was under a spamming law.. I might be happier. But still.. one less spammer sending me crap. But I can take a litle comfort.. They have internet access in Attica. Bubba's gonna finally be able to reply to that enlarge your penis email.
Warning, this will probably get modded as a troll post..
Let's see... (X) Bitch about George Lucas making oodels of $$ (X) Bitch about how stupid the titles are for the prequels (X) Bitch about how the story sucks (X) Bitch about all things Star Wars Prequel (X) Pay my $10 to see it
Ah.. my youthful days as a "Commie". I remember them fondly. Calling the local BBSes and leaving anonymous posts calling this one person a very unkind name.
And Phoneman! What a program! Wardialer and Terminal all in one! Even Red and Blue box tones!
Ok.. I melted the wax of my nostalga. Gonna go back to my Amiga BBS now..:)
This seems like something Homer would post. I was doing some show prep for my show this afternoon and click on the link for this story on Google News. When I clicked on the link for this story here on/. it took me back to Google News.
I'm one of the 6 of the seven. I was happy at first, but then soon found that I hated the calls, and bosses whith no clue.
(I'm off to crash the network. Wish me luck!)
I'm so glad I had a backup profession to fall back on. Plus, I can use my skills in that profession as well. I think schools should remind those who are training for the IT field, that you should have a backup (hmm, like servers and software?) for your life, just in case.
Yes, the money can be good... but it's better to be happy then rich. Didn't we learn that from Dickens and Scrooge?
I wouldn't put it past people to post links on their websites to the "libelis" (sp??) material just to get it ranked higher.
His assinine story is already the next to last item on the first page if you google him now.

"Let the Amiga go...let it fade into computer history. It's time to pull the plug and take off the feeding tube. Yes, it's sad to see it go, but all good things must end."
They can have my A4000 keyboard, when they pry it from my cold dead hands.
(With apologies to gun toting red necks everywhere)
Yes, once again something of the Amiga dynasty has been sold off. Hopefully to a better place where it'll get it's due.
I still have Amigas and use WinUAE. I look forward to OS4 coming out. And I plan on buying the new mobo too. The fact that Amiga IP has changed hands more times then someone with OCD changes their underwear, doesn't bother me in the least. I have faith and that's all I need. IMHO, many skeptics will be proven wrong.
I liked all 4 movies. I thought Jar Jar was tolerable. I bought Star Wars toys as a kid. I could care less about N'Sayne being in the movie cuz I'll probably never even notice them. George Lucas makes movies for a living, and likes it. Yes, George is wealthy, but why should I care if he gets wealthier off my $8 cuz he made a movie I wanted to see. But.. to each his own. So.. "Let the stoning of George Lucas Begin!"
And now I put it to you... "George Lucas. Soon to be as evil as Billy Gates?"
Just wanna wish a Merry Christmas from upstate New York (Albany) and hope everyone had at least one Christmas wish come true.
As for what I got.. The wife bought me a Campbells Soup gift set. Caouple soup bowls, soup packets and crackers. That'll last like 2 weeks.. hehe. Now it's off to my parents then hers for more gifts.

From what I see, the methods differ very little.
Owned!!!

"Old Gold! A Smooooth flavor you can enjoy!"
FINALLY! I can get laid!!!!
WOW! Now if Guliani throws into the ring.. I would be hard pressed to decide!
(Unless Diebold decides for me. I see a running gag here with Diebold).)
But you posted this on Slashdot. This makes you normal? :p
How about invade the Bahamas?
But seriously, I think the scenero in the original post is probably the only way it's gonna work.
Now the question is.. how many of you nay sayers who hate what is happening, will secretly go out and get your copy on the 21st?

Keep in mind that he melted his prototype with 100 Watts. There may be some power issues to be solved first.
[/Quote]
Not nessecarilly. If his design is as effeciet as they say, he could be putting out 30 watts and be getting a PEP of a much higer magnitude.
I've talked to Japan from NY on only 30 watts before.. In some cases 5 watts is all you would need to talk to the other side of the owrld.

There is the paradox!
Ok.. Now we're getting somewhere!

Maybe more like the Red Sox curse and Babe Ruth.
I still say Medi Ali put the whammy on C= back in the day!
