It wasn't random. It was corporate GM policy: Only Chevy can offer a sports car.
As a side note, I played a very minor part in the Oldsmobile Diesel program (I was a collage student in a co-op program at Olds) so I got to see some of the problems first-hand. That engine really puzzled the engineers. They could'nt break them in the lab no matter how hard they ran them, but as one engineer put it "Casper Milktoast is bending rods and breaking wrist pins going to buy a loaf of bread." We really loved that engine, but the public didn't. Oh, well.
Agreed. Noted automotive journal Forbes? I think not. I'd love to own half the cars on this list! I'd love to have a Citroen SM, a rare example of fine French engineering. The Fiero was marketed as a commuter car because Pontiac wasn't allowed by Chevy to market it as a sports car (at GM that honor goes exclusively to the Corvette). Half their bitching re: the Olds 88 was about the Cadilac V4-6-8, which was never offered on any Olds; the other half was about the Olds diesel, which was offered on more than just the Delta 88. In other words, Forbes doesn't know what they're talking about.
Note to recent grads: You will not take home all you earn. Even if you earn minimum wage, your Government will keep some of your earnings as income tax, Social Security tax (FICA), etc. Then there's deductions for your medical plan (if you're lucky enough to have one), pension fund, etc. Just because you don't take it all home doesn't mean McDonald's isn't paying you what they're required -- by law -- to pay. McDonalds couldn't pay less than minimum wage for more than one pay period before finding themselves in court.
When my son was diagnosed with ADHD a light-bulb went off in my head: I have this too! I can certainly understand those of you who don't believe that ADHD is "real", but believe me, it's real alright. A rash of over-diagnosis does not negate the genuine cases.
No matter what you call his condition, my son's life is better with medication. If you saw his drawings pre- and post-medication, you'd know that the medication is actually enabling him to express his over-abundant creativity, not suppressing it. If you were to meet my son you would not accuse him of "mindless conformity."
The deduction is whatever you claim it is. Save those sales reciepts! That 4.77MHz 64kilobyte CGA PC you paid $2000 for in 1983 is worth a $2000 tax deduction in 2004!

I got my boy (seven years old, as it happens) the blue 1000 brick bin for Christmas, and his main comment so far is that it's not enough bricks. I gotta admit, when you open that big bin it sure looks awfuly empty...
So now I've got to find a spare $200 to buy myself (hey, at least I'm honest) a Mindstorms set before they're all gone. I doubt any of them will be marked down as closeout items. Perhaps when Lego sees the run on the remaining Mindstorms they'll decide to make more.
The article didn't say -- are they dropping Spybots as well?
Speaking of old news, and admittedly a bit off-topic, but does anyone know where I can find a crack for the original Microsoft Flight Simulator? The one that's Copyright 1982, 1984 Bruce Artwick/Microsoft. Yeah, I know it's old -- I've also got Pro 2002 and the new 2004, so I'm not stuck in the past -- but the original had some interesting, um, flaws which were pointed out in the books 40 Great Flight Simulator Adventures (c) 1985 and 40 More Great Flight Simulator Adventures (c) 1986. I enjoy these enough that I still keep a 5 1/4" drive (as A: no less) just to play this one game. I'd be grateful if I could copy it to my hard drive and be done with the copy protection nonsense. Help? Anyone?
...if your full-time, high-speed ISP is Comcast or Roadrunner or any of the majority who prohibit you from running your own internet servers.
Pluto is first and foremost a Web server, and by using it to access your "security" system or email or home automation from "anywhere in the world", you violate your ISP's terms of service and risk losing access to anything.
Just in time? I've had a paper copy of this article for 24 years (I bought the magazine when it was first published). Believe it or not, re-publishing something on the internet does not mean it was previously un-available.
Do you think there would be such a stink over what Microsoft did with Kerberos if MIT had trademarked "Kerberos" and enforced that trademark? The whole mess would have been avoided if Microsoft couldn't use the name "Kerberos" if their product didn't interoperate with MIT's Kerberos.

Firebird? 4 seater
Grand Prix? 5 seater
Corvette and Fiero, on the other hand, are both 2 seaters. In the Chevy corporate view, that made the Fiero a threat.

Unfortunately, if it's not obvious to the Patent Office, it's legally not obvious. Clearly, the government needs more geeks!
What difference does it make whether it takes 4 hours to download the email or 4 hours to download the file from the web site?

Thanks, but it didn't work. Rawcopy is indeed out there (I just Googled for it and got it in a few minutes), but it doesn't copy MS Flight Sim.

"Redundant"? This story is redundant.; pointing out that it's a dupe is not redundant.
same as the old boss.
Try one of these.
Screw that. We demand GPL code that plays pirated Xbox games on embedded Linux PDAs and cell phones.
What would be cool is if you could combine games, like Halo and Mario Kart.
Wireless is OK but it only goes so far. What you need is to put each console in its own room, with its own TV.

fdisk can take out any partition: FAT, NTFS, ext2, whatever.
