It is not shallow to some up political beliefs in a word.
How do the Republicans "Make sure that the upper class stays white and rich" (sidenote, I know what you meant but, the upper class will always be rich by definition of upperclass)
Why not? Should planned parenthood not be able to contribute to the democrats? Should the AFL-CIO not have their voice heard too?

There ARE ALWAYS checks. The citizenry can recall elected officials. If we made a mistake by electing Republicans, then in two years we can correct it. However, I believe, the Republican philosophy is better suited for the world we live in.
Our economy will certainly (hopefully) get a jumpstart if nothing else
If it is Endored by the EFF, I assume that means that Hillary Rosen and Jack Valenti will end up blowing on the second deathstar. That could definitely be a good thing...
However, it could be a bad thing if the only song we can listen to in the future is "Yub Yub"
Anyone notice that Yub Yub is "Buy Buy" backwards?
Jesus sues Lucasfilm Ltd. for adapting his virgin birth to the big screen. Mr. Christ was quoted as saying "I disagree that any similarity with any person living or dead is", before using airquotes, "purely coincidental".
Big frickin whoop! Anyway, go check out the DVD it is awesome!
There are lots of decisions made on behalf of the artists that are not necessarily to their benefit. I think lots of Artists would go for a subscription style pay-as-you-go service. Before someone shouts "Rhapsody!" don't forget...that you first have to pay 9.99 a month for the privledge of then paying 1 dollar per song.
How about a service like they do with stocks? Send a check in for 200 dollars and you deduct "x" amount for each track downloaded. I think people would go for it! Especially if record stores could sell the equivalent of "phone cards". However in order to do that, we would need TONS of artists to band (no pun intended) together.
Getting rid of the RIAA can only be positive because they are just a middleman that is taking the artist's and our monies.
The apollo mission was followed by amateur astronomers (and professional ones outside of the USA). It just so happens that all of them were in on it too?
Conspiracy theorists often get nicked by the sharpened edges Occam's Razor.
I might answer my own question but could it be that back in the early 90s cable systems had a monopoly and you could not satellite (easily).
If you go into a grocery store, you can't buy 3 cans out of a sixpack. It seems they have the right, barring extenuating circumstances, to sell just one package, with everything, or sell every channel individually.
If lots of people don't want the channels some one will offer a specialized ala carte plan.
How about BMG create their own standards and call it something else?
I am sure this will lead to more sales, because everyone knows when you spit in the customers eye and take away their ability to do that which they did before, they always reward you for it.
Actually if you sat directly on the northpole, you would have a very cold ass touching every longitudnal line so you would 'go around' the world forever.
I got back from seeing AOTC in an Imax dome (very cool!). I sat about just shy of the half way mark and found myself needing to turn my head to see all the action. I recommend that you sit at the top so the center is 10 to 15 degrees below your horizontal eyeline.
The Coruscant chase was made for IMAX!
Oh, and if you have friends that still haven't checked out this awesome flick, you may want to show them the DVD first (Nov 12). Because this movie is not exactly straightforward anyway, and with the cuts, they make the story harder to understand.
Supply and Demand assumes that you have a fair and free market. Microsoft has a monopoly therefore they can dictate terms more forcefully than if were required to compete.
I am sure tons of people would buy a computer without an operating system if it saved them money.
Unrelated: The screenshots look pretty good, but I think some of the themes from KDE3 (I noticed something that said Desktop 1, so I guess MS realizes the benefit of virtual desktops) are just as nice looking.
Copyright holders want the right to transfer their IP to another party at any time for any reason (including their own death) but they won't let us have the right to transfer our purchased physical property?!?!?!
People can still make their own rips. If you tiptoe around too much the consumers will just say okay go f yourselves I am downloading this off [insert favorite P2P here].
The RIAA in trying to smoke out copyright infringers is suffocating their revenue stream.
I think what you are seeing is more frustration than anything else. Imo, it is misplaced frustration, because last time I checked people still bought cds.

While Cable companies have a monopoly on cable, satellite TV is available.
Whereas with the power company, we can't get electricity any other way.
If their was no alternative, I would support it 100%.
