Well that's unsurprisingly lame on Microsoft's part.
and exactly the same on any older linux kernel - you can't support what you don't know - prior to ev8 or p4 most kernel hackers had ever thought about "logical" processors. I'm pretty sure they could release a service pack to support hyperthreading on w2k, but they love to make money;-)
In Germany if you're only income is from employment you don't have to fill out a single form for your taxes
most of the time you're getting some money back if you file a form..
...Now if your self-employed...
and not working in one of the privileged areas (publishing, art or architecture) you're threated like a company, they require you to file a VAT form every month, pay income tax, business tax, be a member of IHK and other nasty things...
Notice he said "my eardrum," not "someone's eardrum." Even if it means trading off guard duty with friends bearing rifles to keep the thought police away, he's saying that his ear won't ever be encrypted.
Good morning mr. i_am_nitrogen, welcome to chicago hope emergency, you have been hit by a bus, but we managed to rescue you. During the surgery, we noticed that you haven't had a DRM compliant cochlear implant, but fixed this issue for you without any additional cost. Have a nice day..

I guess this is why he said "could" and not "will";-)
When I do a site, I design it to work in any browser. If my customer asks me to ignore the standards (for whatever reason) I just do it (after that I usually remove any references to me from the code) - thats it. On the other hand I'm so sick of all that shitty sites, crappy code and all other bs I see in the web every day. I just don't want to think about it anymore...
A billion of these buggers out there and the still work like crap. How many bazillion hours have all of us wasted, reformatting hard drives, reinstalling drivers

I've a linux box with two dvb cards for digital recording with vdr, its connected to my tv and i want use it for watching dvd's, too. And by the way, most el cheapo dvd players, can't be programmed to record your favorite tv show, from your office's webbrowser;-)
They probably filmed a lot more than ended up in the final movie, just because there was so much material to work with.
I recently saw an interview with a director stateing that normally they have around 75 hours of film material (includeing different takes of the same scene) - that is more than enough for more than one spezial edition

Acording to this Site flashing a new BIOS to use PC cards in a Mac is mostly harmless (tried it myself with geforce)
if you pay 50% taxes in Germany than you must make a lot of money.

what you say? you don't want to fill out 18 taxforms per year and don't want to get rid of 50% of all your income? didn't I mention this?
a lot of the Quadras can run OS 8, my 950 does...
he said versions prior 7.x not after
A large part of the reason that Europe was lagging behind (at least from what I saw in Germany over the summer) is that internet is very expensive
You get 768/128kbit dsl flat for less than 50.- bucks; I wouldn't consider this as "very expensive"
Interesting. I've just turned 25, and modesty aside, I'm an above average developer.
of course - 80 percent of all developers consider themself as "above average"
