    Well that's unsurprisingly lame on Microsoft's part.

    and exactly the same on any older linux kernel - you can't support what you don't know - prior to ev8 or p4 most kernel hackers had ever thought about "logical" processors. I'm pretty sure they could release a service pack to support hyperthreading on w2k, but they love to make money ;-)

    Acording to this Site flashing a new BIOS to use PC cards in a Mac is mostly harmless (tried it myself with geforce)

    In Germany if you're only income is from employment you don't have to fill out a single form for your taxes


    most of the time you're getting some money back if you file a form..

    ...Now if your self-employed ...


    and not working in one of the privileged areas (publishing, art or architecture) you're threated like a company, they require you to file a VAT form every month, pay income tax, business tax, be a member of IHK and other nasty things...

    A large part of the reason that Europe was lagging behind (at least from what I saw in Germany over the summer) is that internet is very expensive


    You get 768/128kbit dsl flat for less than 50.- bucks; I wouldn't consider this as "very expensive"

    IE, I'm happy with it.

    And so are the people that pay my salary.


    Good for you.

    When I do a site, I design it to work in any browser. If my customer asks me to ignore the standards (for whatever reason) I just do it (after that I usually remove any references to me from the code) - thats it.
    On the other hand I'm so sick of all that shitty sites, crappy code and all other bs I see in the web every day. I just don't want to think about it anymore...

    I've a linux box with two dvb cards for digital recording with vdr, its connected to my tv and i want use it for watching dvd's, too. And by the way, most el cheapo dvd players, can't be programmed to record your favorite tv show, from your office's webbrowser ;-)

    They probably filmed a lot more than ended up in the final movie, just because there was so much material to work with.

    I recently saw an interview with a director stateing that normally they have around 75 hours of film material (includeing different takes of the same scene) - that is more than enough for more than one spezial edition
