    .... and the solution is: break the water back down into hydrogen and oxygen. with solar cells making DC current. Electrolysis of water (no, not hair removal) is the way to go.

    and West Virginia University has a PRT system that ties together all of the campus locations and parking lots. It's been in operation since the mid-70's, designed by Boeing.

    I did some retrofit work on the propulsion electronics a few years ago. The system takes a lot of maintenance, but pays for itself.

    For those of you that don't know, it's a dumb terminal (you know, like the application Hyperterminal), but that's all that it does.

    It drives me crazy when my kids come home from school and have home work on energy sources: they NEVER discuss hydrogen.

    Somebody did a report a few years ago about how many acres of solar cells would be required to generate enough hydrogen for the U.S.'s energy needs, based on current technology. It was about the size of Arizona. But so what?

    This would certainly help us cut the cord with the middle-east. They're only using us for the money, anyway...........

    I've got cable modem and a Linksys 5 port hub/firewall. Been on line with 3 PCs for over 6 months. Not a lick of trouble.

    And I love watching the lights blink.

    The first thing that comes to my mind is how little protection pilots have. If a terrorist can't get to the cockpit, the plane can't be used in this manner. Yes, the plane might blow up (less likely because of existing security measures), but it won't cause the directed loss of life.

    I think that we're going to see more security personel in the cockpit until we figure this thing out.

    Did nobody ever consider this happening?

    listening to NPR on-line. sounds like a plane has also hit the Pentagon.

    2 full sized jets hit the World Trade Center. All air traffic in the US is shut down. And I'm suppose to fly to Chicago tomorrow.......

    When sending large files (>1M), I always consider who is getting the file before sending. If they have a dial-up, I'll send a link instead.

    And since I'm >2 miles from my CO, I had to go with cable modem. It's a thing of beauty even at $45/month. I was able to drop my second phone line and ISP. About an even trade.

    yeah, I'm stuck in the same Microsoft boat at work. It's even worse here, most of the computers are MACs. I just keep forwarding this information to our IT people.

    And I'm a huge fan of Eudora. I've got Eudora checking my road runner account from work and Outlook running even as I write this.

    It's the only class that I ever dropped at Cincinnati, the year was 1976. I should have gone to more than 1 lecture. It didn't look like the way a computer should be programmed. With IBM punch cards, no less.

    ummmm..... ever heard of CSA, Canada's version of FCC noise emmision testing?

    If they produce this in volume and/or show it at a trade show, they face shutdown and fines if they don't have a valid report/certification.
