and Outlook. Who the hell uses that piece of shit anymore?
Email is a fucking joke. Spam, viruses, stupid ass coworkers emailing bullshit,... An enormous waste of time. I bet most companies lose 5-10% of their daily productivity to workers using email (not to mention slashdot).
They count on saturday (1 loss and you're out of the 1 game playoff). Sunday you can lose 5-6 and still make the playoffs (I do prefer the NFL method personally, but I don't get to vote).
It's the hardware and bandwidth. As soon as an OC-3 is less than $8500/month I'll have one running to my house. Until then it's back to the drawing board.
You can work and go to school at the same time. I'd venture to guess over 50% of people in school work.
I took 5 years to graduate with degrees in MIS and Finance. I also have a minor in French (you need ~130 hours to graduate, I had 183 at graduation). The entire time I worked 35-40 hours a week waiting tables and made more than enough to live on (btw Oklahomans tip like shit). It can be done, you just have to do it. This is how I got my first job. My GPA sucked (2.97 Overall) but when you list outside activities that you've done in college that closely match the field you are going into, you show you supported yourself through working, and you have a diverse knowledgebase. You get a job. Granted I graduated in 98 and had all my job offers in 97 (timing is important as well).
In an instant gratification society, UoP is right up the typical Americans alley. Excuses instead of action.
Thank god for the typical people, otherwise I'd have to work significantly harder to succeed.
So hack them. Their SSL implementation has serious flaws. I had to upgrade 2x in one day (because I was behind and the new version came out later on the 30th of Sept) 0.9.7c is the most recent. 0.9.6e is really f'ing old.
The best place I've ever worked had a very loose structure.

There are about 85,000 employees. You don't work under a specific manager you work with managers. The managers would decide where the resources best fit the current need. You were always one person away from one of the owners. Not too bad of a layout in my opinion.
The worst companies I've worked for have 10+ layers between the low level grunt (programmer) and the CIO. Totally unnecessary in my opinion.
Yes, but the readouts that produce that data are from thousands of points already existing in the country. I have taken a few metrology classes (they are a hell of a lot harder than you'd think) and our read out data on millibars, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction comes from predetermined points with installed sensors in thousands of different places.
I guess my thought is combining what we already have in the sensors and using the Doppler radar already available throughout the country, this is unnecessary in my opinion.
(To the AC, lol you must be a UT fan with an inferiority complex, and yes you do suck!)
Does this game use anything from the Neverwinter Nights game? It looks really kick ass. I'm going to buy an XBox specifically for this!!!!! I love Bioware (thank god someone saved the freaking D&D world) and Canada kicks ass (I grew up an Edmonton Oilers fan, and Bowling for Columbine just solidifed it, too bad it's cold).
Doesn't sound quick to me at all. They aren't passing a bill saying No Telemarketing, they are passing a bill saying the FCC can have a Do Not Call List. BIG DIFFERENCE.
25% faster and in some cases 50% faster is the case.
However, with a new 64bit architecture and bus speed running at 1/2 processor speed I expect more. I'm sure I'll get it as the OS does better (patched and 10.3)
2.0+2.0 = 4.0 1.25+1.25 = 2.5
The Dual 2.0 is almost 2x as fast clock speed wise so I would HOPE it could outperform a G4 by 100%. However you can see that isn't the case.
Who cares? The only Atari title I've seen is Neverwinter Nights and it was just rebranded from Infograms (although if my company name was Inforgrams I'd use Atari too).
There are a lot of examples herebut I'm sure they won't matter to your closed mind.
The G5 is better but not by that much. I do believe that it will improve significantly as the OS is tweaked for its abilities. The difference between 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2 is far greater than any hardware improvement.
BTW I'm a huge apple fan and have a 180MHz G3 Beige Tower, a 333MHz Beige Desktop, a 733MHz G4 Tower (w/22" Cinema Display) and a 900MHz iBook. I will be buying a 15" Aluminum Powerbook next week and a G5 on the next revision. I don't let the reality that the current G5 setup isn't significantly better than a G4 Dual 1.42 get my pants in a wad (as it has apparently done to you).
Instructions An ISO-9660 image file is an exact representation of a CD, including the content and the logical format. The most common use of an image file is to write it to a blank CD-R resulting in an identical copy of the original CD including file name and volume label information. ISO Images can also be extracted directly to a file location by many CD-R utilities. For more information about image files, please visit the MSDN FAQ.
Did you see the performace gain by the cache you say is too big (Normal 512K P4 versus Extreme 2MB P4)?
The cache is the main reason the G5 Dual 2.0 isn't that much better than a G4 Dual 1.42. If the G5 had 2MB Cache as the G4's do it would perform even better (L2 would be significantly better than L3 as well, but costs increase significantly).
Next time you're trying to run some 3D modeling or any other intensive CPU based software, just realize the cache is significant.
Hell I install VMWare specifically for that purpose!
I see a lawsuit coming. Why can't people come up with original names (I'm one to talk!)?

The opposite is true too. The Thief Demos are as good as the game (and both Thief I & II had levels not included in the full game).
People don't clamor for a demo until the marketing hype has gone too far.
Sounds like you've found yourself a new job. I'll leave $1 in the tips jar.
I like this combo
Qmail (pick a mirror)
And
Horde/IMP
The Horde site also has calendar modules and other cool stuff as well. (You can use it with Courier IMAP too)
They count on saturday (1 loss and you're out of the 1 game playoff). Sunday you can lose 5-6 and still make the playoffs (I do prefer the NFL method personally, but I don't get to vote).
No one reads the articles anyway, they are either ads, crap or slashdotted.

Nothing better than working on MS Unix!

Go to Weather.com and type in your zip code, then from there click map in motion. Voila. They offer satelite, doppler, and forcasting.
Save some money and use what's out there.
they will capture your vote on vtoe.com and then register the one they want on the real site.
I trust verisign less than the president. Oh wait zero cannot be less than zero.

That looks really f'ing cool. Kind of like Kar-Tur(sp?) D&D.
I may have to buy an XBox after all (hell I own NCAA 2003 & 2004 for it, so it's about time).
I wonder if this uses the Neverwinter Nights engine.
I wonder why the FCC didn't do it?
Where are all the Texas trolls? I haven't heard anything since September 13th or so. Saved me loads on my OU Texas tickets.
How long have telephones been around?

Call the FCC for a Do Not SPAM list.

Who cares? The only Atari title I've seen is Neverwinter Nights and it was just rebranded from Infograms (although if my company name was Inforgrams I'd use Atari too).
Since so far beyond is obviously not much difference here are some numbers:
Quake III with ATI 9800 Graphics Card:
1600x1200
G4 Dual 1.25GHz (notice this is slower than 1.42) 169.9 FPS
G5 Dual 2.0GHz 181.7 FPS
QuickTime 1.92GB Movie convert to MPEG4:
G4 Dual 1.25GHz Seconds: 565
G4 Dual 1.42GHz Seconds: 519
G5 Dual 2.0GHz Seconds: 396
There are a lot of examples herebut I'm sure they won't matter to your closed mind.
