I had the same problem canceling with Vonage. Since I took every reasonable step to cancel, I called my card company and gave them the information to document my problem. I was contacted the next day for clarification of the problem and was properly reimbursed for my expenses and time.
Companies who cheat do NOT want to lose their merchant accounts. Card companies are not amused when a large percentage of customers are cheated. The card companies know where their profits come from and it doesn't come from a bad vendor.
Why does a printer driver require 435 MB of disk space (no really, you cannot install it otherwise) and take 30 minutes and a reboot to install?
You don't understand. That 435 MB is to prevent reverse engineering. It would take 895 man years to reverse engineer a driver this size. The 30 minutes to reboot and install is to make you think twice about changing brands of printers ever again. We need you to help protect our profits.
Will they include a cell phone in the next driver's license. Built in mp3 player? Install Vista on the magnetic stripe? Camera on the state seal so big brother can check up on us? Why stop there, go ahead and put an alcohol and drug test biometric sensor on the damn thing. Who cares if the lithium battery inside the driver's license blows up or needs to be replaced?
Why not keep the purpose of a license and stop adding things that can go wrong to it. Why do we love to make simple things so complicated and full of flaws?
Have some people at IBM tally up publicly how many patents Windows and Microsoft Office violate.
If history is any indication, I'm sure they have. And negotiated. And both are actively using that combined portfolio to squeeze smaller players out of the market. This might include some of the patents that are currently being claimed above too.
Sales of vinyl have been increasing year-over-year for the last 10 years according to several music mags. It is a small percentage, but it is increasing.
True, but I haven't noticed a change in the number of joggers running down the street with phonograph players in their hands.
Sounds like a good business, but who is going to buy a HUGE CD when alternatives like SD chips are much more portable and more resistant to abuse? Who buys cassette tapes anymore? Is the decline of reel to reel tapes and vinyl due to piracy?
You need to have a good business plan. Don't blame others for your lack of technological vision.
And when the software idea land grab completely owns every possible idea, the laws will be changed like copyrights to extend length of ownership 100, 200, 500, 1000 years after the author's death.
You asked to outlaw stupid people, so this is what its like when we outlaw stupidity.
Unfortunately, stupid people aren't stupid when it comes to laws, so we have to make lots of stupid laws to cover stupid people. Just wait, you haven't seen NOTHING yet!
High speed valves are no big deal. Sportbikes have no problems with 15,000 rpm. The trick is to use smaller valves to reduce mass. Nothing exotic, just standard machine work and production alloys. Anytime the size is reduced, speed can go up. Of course, marketing hypes anything that is unusual and distorts reality with a few unique "features."
I wonder if anyone has patented taping a phone to a speaker.
Just because it seems obvious to you, doesn't mean it didn't take someone else millions of dollars in reasearch to develop this INVENTION. It could have taken many billed hours to perfect the tape required to adhere the phone to the said speaker. What will happen if those who carefully do this research aren't compensated for their efforts? We will all be cast back into the stone age with our children. Please think of the children!

Thank you for your support.

Its too early to pull out. We must stand united and continue the course, otherwise freedom will win.
This Will Not Bode Well For Microsoft
Hopefully, they will also have either a battery recycling program or batteries that don't have such nasty stuff in them...

I bet you didn't know most cars have a good sized lead acid battery in them. I believe the rates of lead poisoning far exceed nickel poisoning:

I don't really see the downside.
Notice the increase of legal threats from Microsoft towards Linux distributors lately? They want this STOPPED.

For example, probation, being forbidden to own/operate a computer, etc.
This is funny. OK, mom. I won't use the computer. I promise!

What is better than one LED bright enough to light up a whole room? 50 of them! That BLINK!

and a well paid one at that!
Eight year round trips to Mars are never going to work.
Sure it can! We'll do it just like we did when we went to the moon. No one will give away the secret.
Whatever happened to common sense?
We now have laws covering common sense!

Dude, just go to Radio Shack and get a few cable splitters. Problem solved.
That is if your local Radio Shack sells anything besides cell phones.
Superfast means it has the ability to go much faster than the undocumented quota that will get a subscriber kicked off the net.
I should go for the Powerball lottery too. What are the chances the key will turn out to be 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0?
One in 13256278887989457651018865901401704640? Who's infringing who?
But why would we need a passport or ID to deal with federal matters? Does the federal government not trust the states anymore?
and I expect to have my information on the TSA's no fly list:
No on the National ID. Please respect state sovereignty. A national ID may compromise the diversity that makes us a prosperous nation.
