    The only thing holding IBM back from making serious inroads into Microsoft's market share is the perceived lack of applications for OS/2! Now imagine a world in which any Windows applications runs just as well or better on OS/2. This holy grail of computing is the only rational reason I can imagine for IBM to switch to Intel processors... IF they can pull off the Windows compatibility.

    how many people fail to realize this. If they fail to enforce their NDA agreements I would thing it would set a bad precedent for them in the future when the leak might be something really damaging. It reminds me a lot of the enforce it or lose it aspect with trademarks and such.

    however, if there isn't a law and the airlines are making shit up the need to be called on it. Likewise if there really is some 'secret law' on the books it needs to be exposed as the very idea of 'secret laws' is totally against the basic ideal of having a free society.

    The Model T is over. The Cuda is over. The Corvair is over.

    There is still a market for parts for the above cars. Many people still enjoy owning and driving these cars, even though a Honda Civic would be cheaper, get better mileage and likely have much lower maintainence costs.

    Just because you don't give a damn doesn't mean that anyone who likes them is a loser or a fool.

    If the pattern were to be decoded, couldnt you then insert "noise" using the same color and a random layout in order to obscure the coded serial number? I would think that would be an interesting experiment to start with.

    I have my old pioneer DIN-E style cassette deck going to my line in on the pc. I can record manually, though there are many programs ou t there that will do scheduled recording if I want that. The only missing element if figuring out how to control the tuning.

    Still I am cosidering the radioshark just for ease of integration.

    I was mostly interested in what configuration he had to get good performance. This same java app takes around 40% or so on my athlon xp 2500. That it ran as well as it did on th old g3 was actually surprising.
